Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Question 'bout death counterz...

If I set a trigger that subtracts 1 death per preserve trigger, approximately how much will be deducted if I have hyper triggers? confused.gif

Also, with the same example above, approximately how long is 1 game second? helpsmilie.gif

Thanx in advance, y'all.

If you create a trigger that has 'always' as a condition, it belongs to an existing player (has a start location), have 'remove 1 deaths score' preserve and hyper triggers than be sure to have 0 deaths in what you remove 1.
If you preserve a trigger it won't stop, it keeps repeating till the game ends.

1 game second is the same as 1 second in the cloak you have in your computer, but noth that timers speed changes by game speed ('fastest' game timer will be 16x faster than a 'slowest' timer).

Sorry, you must've misinterpreted my question.
To make my questions clearer:

This is an example timer that loops for the time being.

-----
Condition:
-Switch A is set
-Player 1 has suffered at most 0 deaths for Terran Marine

Action:
-Create 1 Terran Ghost at Location for Player 1
-Modify death counts for Player 1: Set 100 for Terran Marine
-Preserve trigger
---

---
Condition:
-Switch A is set

Action:
-Modify death counts for Player 1: Subtract 1 for Terran Marine
-Preserve trigger
-----

My question is, with hyper triggers on, how much faster will the program subtract 1 Terran Marine (death count). 12 times faster? 16 times faster?

Oh, and please note that I'm not a beginner. I just don't know how to modify the "Map Making Skill" yet.
Ooh... maybe I'll read the sticky Yoshi posted entitled "Map Making Skill Information". Maybe that will give me answers....

Edit: I've looked into the tutorial, and it says it fires 12 times quicker, so I guess I've found my answer.

It's actually 12.2x faster tongue.gif

One game second dependes on you setting for Game Speed. On Normal, a game second is a real second. If you go slower, game seconds are less than normal seconds and vise-versa.

1 second = 750 milleseconds with timer and I think it will subtract about 12 But its only what ive heard so experiment with it.

umm. i thought 1000 milliseconds were in a second...

ADDITION:
Oh nevermnd u meant in-game sorry nm

yenku, hes talking about a countdown time. the countdown timer is aproximately 1.5 times faster than a second im pretty sure. how did he get onto the subject of countdown timers?

On what, fastest? It matters.

No, it's 11.9x faster.
Since 84 is the fastest wait SC actually does, 1 time every .084 of a second
1/0.084=11.90476...

WHATEVER the number may be, I always do my calculations based off of 12.

pinch.gif Anywayz, without hyper triggers, preserve trigger have a delay of sort. Does someone here know approximately how long that delay is?

Exactly two seconds

so strictly accurate tongue.gif

Sorry; exactly two thousand milliseconds.

Wouldnt 12x work just fine? for instance the map is 11.5 across but everyone usually rounds that to 12 for locations. why would u have to be so exacting for death counters... I know for exact timing purposes but it really doesnt have that big of an effect.

Well, why does Blizzard give you milliseconds to work with when it can only go the fastest of 84 milliseconds?

It's always good to be exact!

Could you not put those lines in your post? You are spamming characters for minerals. Not to be harsh or anything, I just wanted to say.
