Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Zergling Burrow Hole Size
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-01-31 at 20:27:27
When a zergling is burrowed, what is the radius of the circle in pixels?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2005-01-31 at 20:30:17
It is approximately the round object inscribed in a 15x10 box.

Why couldn't you measure it yourself lazy-ass?

His starcraft could be messed or he does not have starcraft at the moment?

You use the picture, not SC. Actually it is 10x15 I think.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-01-31 at 20:43:37
Bah, I don't have SC at the moment. Thanks for the info!

And how the hell do you measure it with a picture? You cut it or something?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2005-01-31 at 20:47:36
You bring a ruler up to your screnn and mesure it.

Why do you even want to know the burrowed hole size for the zergling anyways?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-01-31 at 20:54:43
You can't move a building on a burrowed unit. So that way my map wouldn't glitch. I'm using the unlimited gunner system and the moving building is to prevent the shot from going through walls. Apparently, the walls don't seem to be good enough so I'm adding a zergling at the exact edge.

ADDITION:
You'll see a post about the map soon, and a beta version.

Make a box around it with paint and it will say pixel size (look in bottom corner)

And who needs SC for this?

I can't wait to find out what you need this information for.

Exciting!....

He should ask something like:

"How much room does a burrowed unit take up? Does it still fulfil its regular size? If its size differs, can it be detected differently?"

From my views, burrowed units are smaller then they really are... aren't they? aren't they?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ub3rn3wb on 2005-02-01 at 15:35:35
Yeah, I think so Red2Blue, like i think like a lurker is medium normal and small burrowed, or im just a dumbass...yup, im a dumbass....

tongue.gif Ure no "dumbass", no one is a "dumbass" here. Don't you like how "dumbass" isn't censored? You can say "dumbass" but you can't say other fun things...

Read above DT_Battlekruser's post (the one above yours) and find out. He says it right there.

Ugh, I tested this and in the end it still didn't work so I have gone to more different measures to solve the problem (That means I didn't use this info after all). Thanks for the help anyways.

I would doubt it that it takes up any less size. And only the sprite has a radius, the units actual space it takes up, as in the area where it can be detected, is most likely rectangular.

PS Legacy, you can move addons ontop of burrowed units. (although it might be the neutral state that is important)

this topic is awsome, keep up the good work.

and burriable air units? how wood that work?
maybe... they cood just fall outa the sky and dig a hole, that wood be awsome.
also, it wood be neet all burried units had their own underground atack, like lurker spine, maybe marines cood throw a grenade or set a trip wiree between 2 marines, so many possibilities!

If you made a MOD for this (cannot be done with maps) it would look like whatever you wanted, because you would have to make your own burrowing graphics. If it was a flying version of an existing zerg it would look the same. Just remeber, this can only be achieved through MODs.

Sorry DT_battlekruser, but I'm affraid there is a way to make a muta fall from the sky and burrow, WITHOUT using a MOD.

Simple triggers...........

You would enable only guardian Morph, unless you use devourer for like a spelll or something... BUt it would work like this. Lets say it morphs to a guardian.... Center a location on it, then remove it and create a burrowed zergling.... Now you would need to use Tuxedo_templar's burrow detection technique to check when the unit unburrows... then center location remove the burrowed unit and create a muta... that simple biggrin.gif

happy.gif glad i could help

This topic is getting out of hand. And also Tuxcedo didn't come up with the burrow detection first.

No, you can't make a muta fall though the sky. There is no sprite for a Mutalisk in half-burrowing. Nor can you keep the unit slected during the transformation. There is no way without a mod, no matter how Uber you are. OWNED happy.gif
