Lost Temple The most Balanced map in the world?
May be... but i think, that it have also disbalance...
What do u think about it?

I think that the expansions at the different locations are set up to make some spots safer to play, esspecially the mineral only expansions. Also 9's natural, and mineral only could be hit from the same cliff. I think they fixed that one in the most recent WGT map though. the matchup of tvp in positions 3 v 12 can be very unbalanced from what i hear, but i play z so i woudn't know.

I think that Nostalgia is the most balanced map though.

Who said it was the most balanced? It's just the most unique ... it provides a lot of different scnearios for a 1v1 or 2v2. That is why people play it so much, it's a fun map where anything can happen.

I think Lost Temple needs maybe some more expansion sites? Because with 4 people, everyone's really given only two expansion sites and two sites up for grabs. I think it should add some more sites, like maybe on in the middle of the map happy.gif

I hate playing 2v2's in LT. I consider it a 1v1 only map.

Terran has a good advantage on LT with siege tanks. The WGT version of the map fixes a few small problems with the map, which Blizzard will probably implement in the upcoming patch; they have said they are updating the most popular Ladder maps.

The Lost Temple might be really balanced but alot of people ate it for what it let's players do. tongue.gif Like me, i don't like how the starting locations with the mineral fields are to close to the cliff, and people will cam siege tanks, vultures, bunkers, SCVs, and Turret's on bottom and you can do anything about it.

i can't wait to see how the new and improves The Lost Temple blizard made for the new patch. biggrin.gif

Battle.net needs to stop playing LT and play some other blizz maps. Blizzard made them for a reason, not just to take up computer space.

I disagree they made it like that so you have to battle others to get farther, i think it makes the game more interesting.

The reason people don't play different melee maps is becasue LT is familiar, everyone knows LT. In a new map you don't know what it's like and what to expect. For all you know the creator of the map could've made one side totally imbalanced with a bazillion minerals while another side with only a few thousand. But I agree we need to play new varations of maps. Hopefully with the thing where you get to see that map before you play it will help that idea.

LT doesn't need anymore minerals because 2v2 games are ussually very short, and its really hard to expand.

Yea, but the thing i think is coolest about starcraft is adapting to your environment, sneak attacks, hiding, exploring, etc. Something new would be interesting. That way i believe it can truly tell whether u are an SC player or not...

I would have to disagree with that. In think that becuase of the amount of expansions people have they are forced to try and take more. And when this happens their is contention so the players have to fight it out fairly quickly in the struggle for minerals. Also beuase there isnt the large number of expansions it means that if a player can succesfully defend agaisnt onslaughts then it is fesiable to beat an oponent by first defending then crushing them when they run out. usually this doesnt work so well, but it is still posible in theory with the current conditions.

I've played a 2 hour game on LT, they aren't always that short and sweet, but it's good with the number of expo's that it has, because that way you actually have to fight for expo's, otherwise more people would tend to expo up and go.. Carriers.. *vommits* or.. BCs!! puke.gif

Never complain about Siege Tanks.. The way StarCraft is balances them out, every race has a way of easily destroying tanks, even when they are up on the cliff. Cliff's provide advantages to all races for their drops. High Templar/Cannon drop for Protoss, Defiler/Lurker drop for Zerg, Tank/Ghost drop for Terran. No defense is unbreakable.

I think if Big Game Lost Temple became popular I would have to quit life.. huh.gif

The problem with Blizzard coming out with new maps is that no matter what they come out with people are gonna play the same thing (BGH + Fastest.. Oh how I hate!). Here's the coolest idea for a Blizzard update, make it so when there are 7 human players and 1 computer player in a melee game the computer becomes invicible.

The only changes required to make LT 'perfect' would be to fix 9:00's screwed over expos from the cliff, 3:00's Siege Tank blast on the gas, and 9:00's Siege Tank blast from below. Then that map would be a perfect example of a good map, then they have to force people to play other maps they make.

Maybe SEN should have a night when we play pure melee maps that people made. happy.gif

i think that in the latest wgt lost temple (10, or 11) they fixed 9's cliff so you couldn't hit the mineral only from it. Didn't notice anything else but i sure they fixed some other stuff.

ive also seen another version (replay with mondragon and someone) where 9's mineral only was against the cliff of 9's main. They did alot of other changes to 9 to make that work, ill be on the look out for that version.

I would change the left base entrance. It makes it so you have to go around that little lipso it takes more time and is easyer to defend.

Also notice that compensate it is easier to attack aswell, with the point jutting out its easier to hit with Siege Tank blasts, with Guardians, or with a well placed Psi Storm as a player is force to cluster there main defenders into a smaller area. I'd say it's about even.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean here. If your talking about Protoss building photon cannons are 9:00's ridge I was would disagree as it's easy at that base.

The other thing you may be talking about which I just noticed myself, is that 9:00 is the only base where a Terran can build an effective wall and the ramp with only 2 buildings. If thats what your talking about with the Pylon to stop a Terran from doing that then I agree.
