At speed 8x or 16x makes the units too fast and then they became frozen for no reason for starcraft. For Warcraft 3, it never happens. but wdf

Are you talking about normal melee games? because if so i've never had a problem with these.

It's never happened with me.

It happens where there are many sprites on the screen at the same time on very high speeds.
And they don't become frozen, the game speed simply automatically changes to slowest (x16 slow), blizzard made it that was so that computers with low RAM won't crash.

The only way it can screw up is if you're watching a UMS replay, or if you're watching a replay from a previous version of StarCraft.

I've had this happen to me, too. I was watching a replay, but I wanted to get further into it, without waiting as much, so I sped it up to x16, and all the units just stopped moving, and the replay seemed to have a mind of it's own. Units were doing random stuff, that never happened in game. Very weird.

Is this a completely random guess? It happens in Sniper Paintball Replays all the time... which has a whopping 12 sprites in a full house game. Sorry, you are completely wrong, and don't know what he is talking about.

That's not a random guess, it happened to me tons of time when I was watching replays of tournirs when people had to make a cool graphical effect, most of them just stacked units and nucked them with 12 or so ghosts at the same time, if you watch that at x16 it jumps immidietly to -x16 (slowest).

And Sniper Paintball latests versions (Bald Locks 316) has hack defence that crashed SC if you see all the map, so no wonder that something happens when you put it no replay...

Altho now I think it's not what the creator was talking about, nr mentioned the "self minded' thingie (that I also saw on maps), not on UMS only but also on Melee, where units suddenly stopped doing what they did in the original game that was replayes and started doing their own stuff with a poor AI.

When mine goes to x16 it stops there. It used to stay at a slower than x8 speed but they changed that so that it is now accurate.

No, it was not the hack defense. I immediately pause the game and turn off vision for p1. FaZ- = Sniperz for 5 years. tongue.gif

The most often thing that I see happening is units stopping, although at times one stops and one keeps going normally causing the "dead" man to kill the allied man. Then the respawn triggers fire and it gets even more weird.
