Well, I'll post some when I make a new map seeing how I can't right now due to the fact that I uninstalled SC to try and fix the SEditor only to figure out I don't have SC vanilla, or I could always get the ball rolling with one of my older melee maps.....

Why not merge them? There isn't much helping required in melee mapping. =/
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-02-03 at 23:30:58
Who said they needed this?? I seriously think this should be merged with the other one.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-02-03 at 23:57:31
Not very long i assume. It should be taken out soon i hope.

Too many mapping forums already. And if the first post is just pessimisticly wondering if it should exist, no one will bother posting in it anyway.

NO, don't delete it, it's just because it's new, no one showed their melee maps since there wasn't anyplace to show them. Now you created on, people will start showing them! Just wait a week or two and you'll see. dots.gif

Yea what real point is there to making melee maps. Ok you make a good one, you get good feedback and praise. But whose going to play it over and over again? NOone. Whenever ppl play melee, they always play LT or hunters or the $$ maps.

Well, if you create a better melee and start playing it alot it might get famous as well and become played more, and it's also good for just getting comments and seeing what you need to improve so that whenever you make a ums next time you'll make a good terrain for it as well.

I make a point when i play melee now not to play Lost Temple, and have you ever made a melee map? I've had much more fun making maps then ive ever had playing ums maps.

But who would need help with a melee map? rofl if you did that would be pretty newbie. But people do play diff maps than LT and $. Remember Nostalgia?

there are many things that people can need help with, not triggers or placing units, it all the terrain and minerals, its hard to make a good map so dont say we dont need this forum

It would help if more people posted threads about their maps than just actually posting their map. However, how detailed can you get with melee maps? What new things can you add? If it comes to a vote, I say delete this forum.

Yes, but we're expanding.

Its tough to say. This is mainly supposed to be a map showcase forum...

Bye Bye Melee forum

If you must have a melee forum, you might wanna make it under generic staredit or merge with terraining. Melee mapping is basically just terraining anyway, give or take some considerations for spacing start locations, resources, and less emphasis on general asthetics.

Ya, I'd have to reverse my vote. no one seems to care that much about this other than me.

You forgot the doodads. Doodads are quite a bit different than terrain.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tuxedo Templar on 2005-02-10 at 21:33:43
Doodads are part of terraining, generally speaking.

Very well then, I stand corrected.
