After some feedback on other forums about the original, it was apparent that the map was pretty much unplayable p v t. if terran could take the center if was good game for the toss warriors. So to aid them, some major changes have been made to the map. The choke has been widened just a bit, one extra ramp has been added to each side of the middle, middle has been made almost twice the width for flanking. We still had the problem of terran pushing up the middle vs toss, and with no unbuildable high terrain on the space tileset i was at a dead end.

That was untill i found only 1 doodad that could not be built upon, but units could still pass over. While some might not like the look, i think it looks pretty cool. I still consider this the beta of this map, and i need to see lots of games on here to truely balance the map even more.

It looks cool but I think that tanks will have a good time attacking the bases below. Unless it is top vs bottom.

Those other start locations are for observers, no buildings go there wink.gif . The only start locations for actual players are Red and Blue. And i named the map wrong in my thread, its power butter perfect.

Edit: Heres the non-obs version of my map so you can wet you 1v1 computer fantasies.

First off, height differences between bases lead to advantages for the players up top. But, I'm going to look beyond that.

Why is the top right base so much bigger than the bottom left?

i agree that the top base is a bigger base but not so much.... but why does the highet give one person the advantage?

lol guys those other start locations are for observers, only red and blue start locations are the real ones. gj pope i like the unbuildable center. But i dont like square tiles in melee maps.

i dont really like them wither, but i had no choice. their is no unbuildable high terrain in the space tileset, and thats the only doodad that can be walked upon and not be built upon for high terrain. so its required, and we could always play chess if the game got boring.

lol id like that, we would have to establish units though,
HOLY CRAP, im gonna make a chess UMS game!

Already done, so stop dreaming.

Actually quite well done, considering how old this map is happy.gif

The map is quite unbalanced I'd have to say. Terran would easily own the sides with vultures, mines and tanks. Then you just use a dropship and build Missle Turrets to the space between the higher ground to the sides and the space terrain.

Players that start on the High Terrain have a big advantage compared to those that start on the lower terrain.

I think it would be less favored towards terran if there were no catwalks on both sides, just plain land.

youd think that terran could go puch everywhere with tanks, but you cant pump tanks off of 1 gas, and the gas expansion are quite difficult secure. So if your playing against. T one of your goals is to stop them from getting the gas expansions.

and i guess ill have to see about building turrets in that little space there.
