Does anybody know the range of a ghost's lockdown!?
7 1/2
heheh, i had to go into to SF to figure this one out for sure
also, dont ask me why its 7 1/2, it just is
I would imagine it is 14, the range of a Terran Ghost's C-10 Canister Rifle.
Vodka, please don't spam. You were making a random guess. By the way mr. "advanced" why on earth would you look in Starforge for ability ranges? Lucky I keep a copy of Arsenal III lying around.
Even if he is incorrect that doesn't mean it is spam.
He isn't just wrong, it is obvious he randomly chose that number for no reason. He claims to check the range of an ability in Starforge, which is total bs. Not to mention, there are no halves in ranges.
That fact that you didn't give an answer to help anyone may be spam as well. I think he actually is correct, it might be around 7 1/2, its a good guess.
It is 7 exactly and it has a buff delay that makes it look like it is 7 1/2.
DT_Battlekruser, mind that the value in Arsenal III don't use the same numbers as in SC tiles, 10 in Arsenal III is 5 in Starcraft, as so - 14 in Arsenal III is 7 in Starcraft.
Yet after a missile is shot it'll follow it's target for a spacific lenght, and that's why lockdown seems to be a little longer ranged than 7.
What exactly is the range measured in?
1 "Normal" sized tile would be the equivalent of 1 Range.

That was my submission of help. The question didn't specify the unit of distance, so I used what was most readily available.

and it IS 7 1/2 going by the amount of tiles it is in SC and SF!
lol yea dt, youve done that to me to multiple times, the other day i heard someone say it was 7 too.. so dt, dont judge.

first of all, he isnt wrong, secondly, even if he was wrong that wouldnt be spam, and third, Starforge is fine place to find out. And dont question whether he is advanced or not..
Fourth of all, how the hell do you use a mapmaking utility to determine range? I might have been a little less confused if units had been specified above.
I imagine he placed units aligned to the grid and and the placed a mech unit and a ghost with energy then lockdowned and counted how far the ghost and mech were apart when the lockdown fired. Thats foolproof.
I think he's gotten the answer.
