Is there a way to "unpreserve" a preserve trigger trigger?

No there is not trigger "unpreserve the last preserved trigger"

Just add another contition so the preserve trigger won't go like crazy (if that is where you are getting at).

Add more conditions and actions in the trigger/other trigger to make it run only a certain number of times. (ie, death counter).


Trigger
Description:
I run 5 times
Players:
¤ Player X
Conditions:
¤ Current player has suffered at most 4 deaths of some_unit
¤ Always
Actions:
¤ Modify deaths for some_unit: Add 1 for Current Player
¤ OMGDOSHIZ.
¤ Preserve Trigger

Switches are commonly used for this.
