Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> So-called Earth
Report, edit, etc...Posted by AqoTrooper on 2005-02-10 at 15:28:31
Today I've decided to create my own world, it's gonna have so-called "living" creatures that I'm going to program and so-called earth that they gonna live on.

If you don't get it yet - I'm bored and decided to program a program that runs itself and rebuilds itself while progress.
It'd look like a place with things on it, duh...

Anyway, I need your help, I want to give a name to my "planet", how should I call it?
Please don't suggest anything stupid, very long, or that has been already used in popelar games, just give some simple names like "Earth" (but not Earth, Earth is already very popular tongue.gif).

Thanks in advance.

but really you should make it a mystical place and call it Atlantis

Sounds like another game I've seen, called Darwin bots or something like that. You could choose from a bunch of different things that were like creatures and stuff, and place plantlife. Once it started it ran on its own, but you could still place things. You could also create your own creatures.

If you're a bot, yes.
If you're a real person... no sorry :\

What I'm making is not really a game... you won't be able to "play" it.
It'd just be a program that I'll create and follow it's progress, and for a time by time I'd update it.
The idea is that in the end the program would be able to program itself and all I'll have to do is watch.
If I'll see it goes well and interesting, I'd release it.

Oh awesome, those are good!
I'll use Pangaea, Terran Firma is two words and Gaia is too short, but I can still use them to name places on it, thx!

Anyhow, I just realised I'll have to name the "citizens" on it somehow (like, for example: "human"), yet again, something original that wasn't used in other places please.
I suck at making up names myself so that's why I ask.

Thanks again CaptainWill.

They were all plural forms, which is why they ended in 's.'

I made them by corrupting actual animal classes. What kind of animals were you looking for anyway?

I wasn't looking for animals... I was looking for names...
the "citizens" on my "planet" are actually just pixels with very complicated scripts, I'm working now on a way to make them change the scripts for themselves while doing their already existing scripts, so that they'll change with the time and make... their own civilization :\

Terra means earth(as in dirt), and it's already been used.
Gaia is popular for Rpg's.
Pangea is the name for the Super-continent before Africa, Americas, Eurasia, etc. seperated.
