Okay, this is a pair of maps I made today, which bear absolutely no resemblance to each other.

The minimap piccy's are included in the attachment section. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The desert one is called Ebony River, 128x128, 2 players.

The Ice one is called Glacial Remains, a.k.a. Bear Country. 128x128, 3 players.

They look a little spaced out and the terrain looks like it was rushed through. Melee map terrain should be just as hard as any large hero starcraft map.

Okay. I will keep that in mind next time I'm making a map.

Truth is that I was in a hurry. Those two maps were made in the space of about an hour.

making a good and balanced map can take alot of time and testing.

Why would you need to balance a melee map?...And test a melee map...As long as you have start locations and rescources.

Every single map need to be tested.

Balancing a Melee map is of utmost importance simply because if not balanced it would be unfair to some players and easier to the others. Having the same resources, entrances, terrain protection, chokepoints and expansions to each plaeyr is qutie hard to do but necesary.

it can be unfair for certain players, of course theres no testing for bad triggers or anything, its to make sure that each base is as even as possible.

My most sincere and humble thanks. Hopefully, time will hone my skills and elevate me to the ranks of pro-dom.

Even though I privately believe I have not a snowball's chance in Hell of getting there.
