I mainly play 3v3 nr20 Zero Clutter type maps, which are designed with 3 bases on bottm and 3 bases on top. When the match starts, people say "T" for top and "B" for bottom. And then everybody allies accordingly.
If I set the map to Top Vs Bottom settings, the teams are chosen before the match. Obviously this way teammates might not actually end up on the same sides of the map.
Is there a way to pick teams before the match AND actually have those teams all end up on their respective sides?
Not for melee. But in use map settings if you disable "Random Start Location," they will start on the location where you put them. Player 1 will be red, player 2 will be blue etc.
Then split them into the proper Top/Bottom forces.
You could also have them play top vs bottom games, so they don't have to choose who their teammates are in the game. There is also another way to do this, but I think LegacyWeapon told you the simplest way to do it.

How do I disable that?
This is in XTRA.
Scenario > Forces (Control + Shift + F)
Then for each force (1 through 4) Uncheck "Random Start Location".
