Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Emotive vs. Technical

This can apply for basically anything, especially art.

The way I see it, art can be categorized in two categories:
Emotive (lots of emotions, or being able to portray one)
Technical (lots of details that all move together)

Which do you prefer? This can go for music, physical art, literature, etc.

Oh yea, and notice how there is no "Both" option? That's because I'm not asking for an answer that is 'I like both.' think hard and choose the most important to you.

Technical. I never listen to the lyrics in songs, particularly soppy love songs. It's the music and how it fits together that interests me, not some poor sap whining on about how much he loves someone.

I agree with CaptainWill. I would much prefer listening to instrumentals than the band's actual songs.

As for art in general, I guess I would be more of a technical kind of guy.

Little bit of both. I like to be crazy, and I like to be technical too.

Same.
Some rap would be half-decent if you took out the lyrics.

Technicality.
I don't see why you can't mix them, which would be preferable, but emotions can be biased, and aren't always the same for two people.

Doesn't the poll have a 3rd option? A middle term perhaps. wink.gif

I won't vote since for most I try to balance those things, especially in music. For instance, sometimes I hate the guy playing the song but like it never the less.
