well i did sum searches but without results...
i have 4 questions about some advanced (at least it seems to me like it) editing...


-) how do i make that flashy unit colors? not just one color... like black and white or blue and red... those lil pixels.... i saw it in many maps by Quality Mapmakers...

-) can we edit names like "unpowered" .. "disabled" .. "Blind" etc...

-) why does my hyper triggers manipulate my other triggers which are ahead of my hyper triggers .. also sum of the "normal triggers" arent even in the same "player condition" (for what player it fires)

-) why does also alot of 50 or 100 or 500 ms WAITS manipulate the speed of trigger fireing ?


PLZ help me ... i really appriciate any help or suggestion..

1. Obviously you missed something...
We have tutorials for everything!

2. Not without a mod.

3. Make hypers for a computer player that has no other triggers with waits.

4. Wait blocks. When a wait runs, it checks other triggers if their conditions are fulfilled. If they are, that trigger will run before the first wait resolves. If the second trigger has a wait, then that will repeat the cycle. This is also how hyper triggers work.

1.) huh well... i never thought of a keayword like glow.. blushing.gif thx.. does this work also with terran units, since it says "zerg"...

btw.: there are 2 things i noticed

a.) the color on the map .. (not mini-map, not profile) the big map where u click and play
b.) in the profile where also the health and mana get displayed

is it both the same and what u explained me now (the tutorial u posted)


2.) oh well.. to bad... pinch.gif


3.) damn.. then i have to rewrite alot of stuff.. or can i make them also for neutral palyers 9-12 ?

4.) wow.. so it is even trickier and fine-detailed then i thought...

It works for non-Zerg but it won't "glow" it will have weird health.
I prefer death counts over waits. If you put the hyper triggers at the bottom, it might work better because it shouldn't cause those 3 hour long wait blocks smile.gif

Players 9+ do not run triggers.

ok all things answered thx but one thing left.. i still think in one point we do not talk about the same thing... what i ment with double colors is:

at the map.. i saw a marine in a rpg.. it was my marine and i had the color white.. (yes on miniap im green) but on map im white... but i was not white.. i was white and had small black pixels around my body...

(nothing todo with health) --

Those are different player colors. Player colors above 17 and below 225 are very strange and taken from different parts of SC's palette. I suggest you just stick to the normal colors, because these look really ugly.

hehe .. well yes i allready sayed.... not the portrait, not the minimap... THE MAP.. there where u can control the unit... i saw such nice colors.. lol... i loved black and white...

and yes chuiu... i think now we talk about the same thing.. explain this to me plz smile.gif

Well using an editor like Starforge, GUEdit, SCMToolkit. You can edit the players color via a 1 to 3 digit number. For example, 0 = red, 1 = blue, 17 = black. But after that the colors get really crazy. Basically you're safe using 0-225, but anything else is said to crash. I haven't actually tested it myself because the colors are ugly and it's pointless using them.

There should be a tutorial or text file somewhere describing what colors you should see and how they appear on the minimap/leaderboard/etc somewhere, just search for it.

The program that you want for pictures on the minimap is BMP2SCM... though there really is no point, you can make those sext pictures maps that we all know you love. Judging by the popularity of them, they must be the best maps on Battle.net!

If you use SCM draft 2, the color will be either brown, black, or pale aqua. But, I could be wrong.

SCMDraft 2 doesnt allow you to change colors past the first 12, I believe. Thats why I said the other editors.

Depends on what you mean by 'ahead' of the other triggers. But be warned if you have a trigger for all players or a force its the same thing as triggers for all those players in that group. The trigger order is deceaving so it might not actually be ahead.

Yeah, the wait action is the most complicated trigger function. Also about your 500millisecond thing.

Normally people say to put your hyper triggers at the end so it doesn't mess with your other waits. This is true but many people don't realize the reverse applies. If you run a long wait for the same player the hyper trigger be blocked (pause). If your running a 500 millisecond wait alot of times in a row or constantly your hyper trigger will run at 500milliseconds instead of the normal 84.

yea, true... it took me long to place my trigegrs in the ruight order and see all connections.. well..

and about that unit color thing.. i found the tutorial and some other nice thoughts...
the only bad thing is that those advanced edits (like sprites, colors, glow etc) cant be converted to xtra editor...i mean alot of edits i do with starforge and scmdraft dont show up in xtra editor and get deleted if i save the map then in xtra then...
