Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Limiting Max Supply limit?

Is there any way to Lower the Max Supply limit?

From what people are talking about, you CAN RAISE the supply limit for each player.

If that is true, is there any way to lower it? I'm looking at limiting all races to 100supply(food) for my game.

If not, I know you can limit the number of pylons/overlords, etc, but that gets kinda complex to include fair gameplay. (having to limit comandcenters/nexus's, etc)

Is there a complex system that will detect how much total food from units you have? It WOULD have to be complex, because the triggers would have to notice how much supply a unit is taking, how many OF that unit there are, calculate total supply, etc...

Simply and easily.

Refer to the Player 14+ tutorial and use preplaced extraplayer unit to add 100 to the Protoss, Zerg, and Terran supply COUNT (not max) for each player. bingo.

Will that require players to build some odd 13 pylons/supply depots - BEFORE they can start building units?

Yes, it would be like already giving them 100 marines.

Why require them to build these pylons/supply depots.
Preplace Nexus and CC and Hatcheries and some units!
Then it will be like they already used exactly 100 supply but don't have to waste money to get that 'supply lowering technique' supply used back.

i dont understand what you said there, it would be like giving them one hundred marines, could you explain more?

I was just saying, that if you use the extended player method, placing units for extened players to increase used supply by 100, it would be no different than giving the player 100 marines that he cannot use. And I said yes to Drakiels second question regarding players having supply. Though you could just pre-place them on the map up to 100.

No, just use more extended player stuff to simulate supply providers (again view tutorial)

You can simply limit the amount of psi producers
Trigger
Description:
How to do it
Players:
¤ (Which ever player you are trying to limit)
Conditions:
¤ Current player commands at least (Whatever amount you want)
Actions:
¤ Kill 1 (overlord/pylon/supply depot) at anywhere

Zerg use overlords for transport/detection, protoss use pylons to be able to actually build, and terran use supply depots as walls to force other players to micro around them or destroy them. 3 very good reasons why you can't just limit supply by killing them.

Aye, you CAN just limit the number of pylons/overlords/depots, but that REALLY limits the stratigic factor involved.
Thanks Chuiu for stating that before I had to.

NOW I HATE to unnecessarily dwell on a topic, and I don't mean to sound dumb, but I don't understand how to use P14+ to raise the supply to 100.
I read the tutorial, I see the chart and that chart simple befuddles me. I looked under P9 (and beyond) and it just talks about speed and animation uses.

Could you perhaps baby-step walk me through it? I'm slow not dumb ;op.
Thanks in advance.

Argh the chart shows the player's effects. The unit list shows that that building adds that much to the value.

But I think this is all bullcrap and pointless due to the new patch.
