I have no idea how this happened, but today I go to play Starcraft and starcraft won't run......its like my computer ain't reading the CD. Soooo I take out the CD and look at it, to my horror there were slight burn/heat marks on the CD. Being the smart person I was I developed a Hypothesis and did an experiment with 3 different CDs. COming to the conculsion that my CD drive is

My broodwar cd is scratched to hell. Do what I did and download the .iso. It's legal because you already have the cd.
I'll actually hook you up if you have a fast connection speed.
I hate cdroms. They all hate me. Every cd rom or cd rom writer I've ever owned was . Yet, I could steal like a cheap crappy $5 rom from my dad and it works perfectly. My xbox dvd rom also hates me. I even bought a 2nd dvd rom for it, and it hates me too.

ya I got a fast connnection. Broad band comcast cable. My bot tells me I got ping 31 and Im the fastest connection in my clan...soooo... I geuss I got a good connection. So could you hook me up homie?

Basicly here are some of the problems you all have that your cd drives damage your cd's.
1) Your PC is at an angle meaning the cd will spin slightly tilted and might have contact with a part.
2) You hit the place where your PC is sitting causing the vibration to make the cd to tilt to all directions depending on it's spin causing it to warp and hit some components.
3) When putting the cd you don't put it gently on the tray causing more scratches.
4) You've dropped your cd lots of time
5) You installed you drive the wrong way(usually at an angle)
6) Your a maniac and shouldn't use a computer
Cd-Drives endure lots of testing before released to the market so they work fine. It's usually the owners that misuse them or don't take care of them.

Things like this are annoying...like a week ago my computer suddenly couldnt read my CD-ROM drive, yet my CD-ROM drive is working perfectly.....strange things happen

That happened to me months ago.
Just manually re-install it to your computer and then change the values of the drive to their original state.

UPDATE:
I did crl+alt+delete and went to procceses and noticed that star craft was in the list and when I clicked for it to end it's proccess, it didn't work..... So maybe I can't load star craft becuase my computer thinks its already running???? and I can't end it....
I still don't understand all this

OK so this is the dealio.....
When I turn my computer on, star craft will work!!! w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif but.....when I run it, star craft acts like this is my first time playing it and it runs the broodwar intro movie (the marines in the trench)
When I go to play online, broodwar, us west., etc.... the logining screen keeps showing Quaring Gate way.....and then stops responding. I manually updated sc so I have the current update running.
So then after I turn off sc and try and play it again it doesn't work. I keep clicking on the the icon and it won't run, so then I go to the cd drive and manually have to open it (for some reson the auto run doesn't work too) and the click on install. Which then makes the auto run screen pop open. SO then I click on play starcraft and the screen dissappears. I get an hourglass next to mouse (like the computer is trying to run) but then it too dissappears. and then nothing, sc won't run ever. Only untill I restart the computer will it run again but only once and b.net won't work on it.
I discovered this is the same too for every game I try and run on this computer. It works once and then it stops working.
Any smart people out there know whats going on???

Well since u have the actual game...Try going to a FTP program and try to DL a loader...i suggest Filetopia..XD, thats what i did with D2E i was getting sick of switching CD's so i dled a loader XD
