hey, i was looking around an old disk labeled "Andrew" and I found these. I remember when they quit this project. The bob is someone avatar from starcraft.org forums when it still existed. EDITED MANY TIMES BECAUSE OF FILE SIZE LIMIT.

The 1st and 3rd look like watercraft...

Wasn't this the project Blizzard closed itself in order to prevent other g0su productions to out-produce them? With water units and buildings and all...

But this was modded, which blizz doesn't care about. Why did they close down anyway?

I remember a project like this. It was called Aqueous Rift, and it was going to be a damn good mod too. I forgot for a few weeks, and next thing I know, it was gone without a trace. There was a broken link to the website, no explaination at all. The only thing I got, which was on a forum (I think CC), said that it "died a horrible death".

Come to think about it, many of the mods that I like tends to do that. Like the Terran Ascension, which all activity has disappeared. Even worse was that the leader disappeared, and then, the project died, and then came back alive again when somebody else took hold (I think it was a co-founder...), and the project died off...

Wow. That looks cool. Especially the Scout/Shuttles... I don't care for them, but they look good.

Water units/buildings would make the game more interesting...

You forgot it would remove most of the balance, too... A game with too much units becomes a gay game (C&C)

If SC ever have water units, ground units should dissapear wink.gif

I think adding water units would be gay, ships and stuff is so primitive, they would be going back to old technology. I mean how often would you use them anyway, on maps set on space platform or installation, you couldn't even build them.

that looks cool, itd be awesome if there was water units.

Why awsome for water units when they wouldn't be used at all? Space shuttles and such are more efficiant.

But the water units are cool-looking...

I think it'd be nice to have them, even if you don't use them much. It could make for some interesting missions/scenarios...

Actually, if there were critters that swam, it would look so nice. Like an actual lake with fishes and all. And you could go "fishing".

lol i bet it could be possible to make a mod like that
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-01-21 at 21:03:53
It is.. why you think screenshots are there? =P
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SpaceBoy2000 on 2004-01-21 at 21:08:26
...

Does anybody else know that the screenshots were faked? The ones with the water shuttles selected have black spots around them, indicating a fake.

But it DOES look good. And it can probably be eventually editted into SC.

I meant that.

No. The only problem with that mod with the current standard tools is that there are no way that we can limit the units to moving in only water. They would crawl over land and stuff. Not a problem if they were something like crabs, but fishes walking on land?

And how about limiting the other units not to walk onto the water? Very tough. Many have tried and failed.
