Is there a stable extended unit that works like an arbiter's cloaking field? And by stable I mean I don't care if it works on Macs or not I just don't want to turn my map into a game of roulette. That's all.
are you asking, is there a cloaking field ability without an arbiter?
if thats what your asking, no, there is none, and if there was, it would probably crash sc anyway
atually yenku there is a starcraft unit thats a cloaking field and cloaks. ill find a link to the thread in the conepts forum
Well I know there was one but I think the new patch changed it and I herd it had a chance of crashing anyway (it always worked for me though).
EDIT: What he said...
It's 6178 I think. Can someone tell me if the patch killed it?
how do you set the unit property to 6158? I can't find it anywhere in SCXE or SCMDraft

That's because you can't do that in either programs.

You must use starforge 2.2 to do this... And it's not the unit property (as far as I know of), but rather it's unit ID.
Select Unit>Unit Properties
Choose "ID" and enter 6158.
Sadly, chances are the patch screwed it.
The unit is 6178. And no, it doesn't work anymore.
Has anyone found a new unit that works the same way?
I haven't found ANY extended units that work yet...

EDIT: For Patch 1.12
Chances of an extended player screwing up are less likely than an extended unit for every patch. There are only 12 registered players and 228 registered units. The unit ID is two bytes, the player ID is one. Both extended players and units read beyond the allocated memory, AKA a buffer overflow. Now if you compare player 161 with unit 6178, the difference between 12 and 161 are much less than the distance between 227 and 6178. Extended units and extended players are the same for all PC users, and the same for all Mac users, but the effect with the Mac user and effect with the PC user are both completely different.
You can use the pylon glow sprite and stack it to make it a darker color. The only problem is units pop over and under the sprite when they move over the center horizontal line, like the sprite is only drawn on top when it is above the center and on bottom when it is below the center.
How does that get remotley close to cloaking?
The answer is that it has not been found yet Chill, or that it is impossible.
I answered in the interest of what he wanted to do. He wanted to make a roulette board, and the only oter round thing is a pylon aura. So I offered to help him since his initial question is not able to happen. That is why I help people, is to get the thing they want done.
Erm um what is an extended unit? o_0
Lol, Turin, he said he DIDN'T want to turn his map into a Roulette Board. It's metaphoric, meaning he doesn't want to gamble with the chances of crashing StarCraft.

Spammage?

Use the report function.
And also, some people don't understand that no extended units working means no cloaking units with SF. Not all people know that only using extended units can we cloak an Arbitor.

Srry, it's just that i'm on mac... meaning no starforge... meaning that i am not witness to the awsome powers that it can unleash... and i wasnt talking about the extended unti that cloacks things i was talking about the actual arbitor it self.
Only extended units can cloak the arbitor without crashing, but as of right now we have no extended units to our knowledge of being able to doing that.

I said that just one post before yours.
