When you take a screenshot of your desktop what file does it go to, please excuse my n00blarness, but this is a genuine question.

It goes nowhere because you did it the wrong way.

You have to press Ctrl+C+Print Screen to copy the screenshot
Then you paste it (Ctrl+V) in Paint.

um, all you have to do is press print screen without any other buttons and then sae it in paint.

My guess is that it came from copying whatever comes up when you hit print screen, even though it isn't necessary.
