I added a sound file and some other triggers to my map, and it dled super slow, so i removed them all, but it still downloads extremely slow. worse than a 256x map.

Whats the size of it and your connection speed? It could still be a large map combined with a slow connection.

It's most likely because there's a large ammount of unit's or trigger's, Plus the connection speed of your modem.

Are you sure you deleted the sound entirely from the map.
Looks to me like you either removed the string or the triggers tied to the sound.

I have had this happen to me. No matter how much I tried, I couldnt delete a sound form my map to reduce the size. But that was before SF. It also hitches on saved triggers, I had a trigger that was small but the size of a sound hitched on and when I loaded it onto another map it made that one big too.

Load the wav back into the map, delete it, then save again.

I have dsl, the map was downloading to other peoples comps fine, until i added some more trigs and added sound. So i took out the new triggers and the sound, in an attempt to make the same as it was before, to no avail.

  • You don't 'download to other peoples computers' you upload to them
  • Your internet connection doesn't effect the size of the map
  • Trigger take up virtually no space
  • How about you try what i suggested, some times when people delete wavs and use save as then they end up with the wav file still in there mpq but no string in the map
