Post suggestions in here. The request for a SE-Style trigger editor has been noted, so please do not post anything about that. Off-topic posts will be deleted.

How about a Mac version, or releasing the source to a Mac user, such as KrazyKrl, and letting them port it?

I think you should make the grid snap match the other editors. Like write now, minerals dont match in the two squares they're supose to. It would be nice it you could do that since you could stack perfectly with other units. I know you can use the stack thing, but... O well, I'm losing myself. It would be cool to make the grid snap match thats all.

In my opinion an SE-Style trigger editor is not needed but w/e. The only thing I don't like about SF is that the ISOM is really messed up, its better in SCMDraft. For one thing please change the "Save Warning" that says: One or more players are set as active but do not have starting locations........

It would be better if you removed that warning and when you try to save your map it would be like in normal StarEdit that it would tell you that you couldn't save because of this and this and this. It would be something like the normal warning there is now but it would only appears when you try to save it.Its a small change, but I just hate that warning every time you make a new map.

No, SE stile triggers are way simpler and they have a way better interfance. If you mess up 1 carracter in Starforge, it won't work. And yes, that true, the ISOM if really fuked upe in Starforge, that would be one coll thing to fix sinceI don't use SCMDraft, only Starforge.

-Finish the overlap preveiw

-All the other ideas i'm sure i have told you (can't think of very many now, but if you want me to refresh your memory i'm sure i can compile a big list of stuff. (not that kinda stuff your already getting like "the ISOM sucks, and SE triggers")

Hey!!! That guy has a name tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif Its Caim

Anyways. SE style triggers could be added for those stubborn people that fear SF triggers. But really, its SO simple I learned in FIVE minutes how to triggers in SF ( I'm DEAD serious).

Oh, I said but I'll say it again, please change that warning you get every time you open a new map read my other post for the explanation if already haven't. pokey.gif

Yeah...that's two for you now, Caim wink.gif. Your second post didn't really add anything that the first didn't already have.

Because of the great tendency of people on this forum to get off-topic, I don't want the discussion of suggestions in here. Just list 'em, and I'll sort em out later. Thanks.

It would be neat if you had an option that showed where ground units were able to be placed legally. Just like a red box appears over it when choosing where a unit goes so you know if it would be placeable in normal StarCraft. One thing I hate is trying to make make untis close to cliffs or water; and they keep coming up as unplacable.

Other than that and some stuff already listed; I can't think of anything that needs to be added or fixed (atleast that i can think of right now).

Yea, isometric terrain really is screwed up in starforge. i can post a screeney when i get home.

one little annoyance is moving the start locations - warning keeps popping up with a loud klaxon-type alarm. at first i thought it was a joke on the user, you just have to keep hitting escape

as for the triggers, SF is waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy better than SE. i have programming experience so i just fell into it naturally, but anyone should be able to learn it within 15 minutes or so

one more thing - CREATEUNITSWITHPROPERTIES. i don't know if it's done yet but it hasn't been updated on the tutorial. that's a biggie

To reiterate, it is NOT necessary to post things that are obvious or that have already been said. Yes, I'm looking at you, 007Torrasque.

As for the "Player without start locations" thing...If you hit OK it will never ask you again for that map.

FOR THAT MAP, but what I'm saying is that EVERYTIME you open a new map you get the warning. I suggest this:

Yes, I AM quoting myself

dots.gif dots.gif For me to reiterate.. i took it as though YOU didnt know that it NEEDS fixing.

the warning thing isn't a big deal, and the autosave feature is worth it

i get the feeling that createunitswithproperties isn't complete, but does anyone know if you can use it to create invincible units?

i have a map with a masser that respawns when used, and as it is some spunky player might fly in and kill them to annoy their opponents. i have a no fly zone to protect them, but space is tight so guardians can still shoot thru it

as for the complainers that want SE triggers - just fix the load triggers and they can do it themselves. why they want to use SE triggers i have no idea...(if load triggers has been updated then just ignore me)

could you make the snap to grid snap the units to the middle of the grid square? also, could you make it so that you can choose whther to turn on or off the option that scm draft2 has where if you click and drag the cursor over a bunch of units, it displays a wireframe of the unit so that you get to se how many are stacked or whatnot.

It doesn't have to be starforge, but I'd like to see an editor that you could select areas of terrain and move them. Say you make a moutain in one corner of a map, and you decide to put a lake there instead, and have the mountain elsewhere, you could pick it up and move it. Or simply a copy/paste function for peices of terrain. This might be pretty hard to do, but it would remedy a terraining nightmare for me.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2005-03-06 at 17:15:22
Ever heard of custom brushes? Select the terrain in Starforge, right-click and select "Create Brush." Then you can place it anywhere you want, or even save it for use in another map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-06 at 18:00:59
Oh, I did not know starforge could do that... blushing.gif
I was using some pos thing that me and a friend made.
Hehe, well thanks a lot. smile.gif

Anyways, you should make a way to change terrains, like from ice terrain to desert. I saw one thing that did a sloppy job of this, and I think SCMDraft might incorporate this idea, so it's not too big of a push for it, but it would be nice.

The triggers should be xtra so we can find triggers easy to do and design other stuff to like scmdraft smile.gif

LoL there hasn't been any half way decent suggestions yet. Except maybe the allow only legal unit placement option.

Move Up/Move Down and Move To Top/Move to Bottom in the Trigger Menu. I can't organize my triggers in SF, so I normally do triggering in SCXE. However, SCXE removes all sprite placement/extended placement, so I get pissed when I have to add ALL of it again.
