I was wondering if you could make the players 9-12 ally players 1-8. Also if you place a start location for players 9-12 are you able to makes triggers for them? 1 more question, can you spawn units that are under the control of players 9-12?

You can ally with player 9+. You can't create units with triggers owned by Player 9+, but you can give them from other players. You'll need to use StarForge for the triggers that will use Player 9+.

Let me put it this way ... if you don't have to place a start location and set properties for the player to see them in game then you cannot run triggers for them.

Chu's Post in Simpler Terms:
If:
You don't place a start location and set them to an active state (human, computer, neutral) and their units still appear in game.
Then:
They can not run triggers.

SC Engine does not support that
So: No.

Do I have to have units placed for player 9-12 in order for triggers to work? Or do i just need a start location and make it active?

Chu said:
IF YOU HAVE UNITS THERE BUT THE PLAYER IS NOT ACTIVE AND HAS NO START LOCATION
THE PLAYER CANNOT RUN TRIGGERS!

You need to have the player active with start locations but SC does not support player 9+ for being active.

Alright Legacy got that part, but will triggers run if I have start location, set it as neutral, and have pre-place units?

No you can't make them ally because they can't run triggers.
Why don't you try to spawn them yourself? Its pretty easy test, make a trigger that creats a unit for player 9. Then you see if the unit is there or not.

I hope no one objects if i lock this topic.
