Okay, so i reformatted my computer. I always end up in Brood-War KOR (Korean) whenever I sign in. Most games are in Korean, and nobody joins my games cuz all people are Korean (I think). The Channels work, but everthing's Korean! Even If I'm in US East! PLZ HELP ME!

Go to
Start -> Run
Type in 'regedit' and press OK
Hold Ctrl+F and type in "Battle.net" and press Find Next
When you have the folder Battle.net selected, delete it.

Then find "Blizzard Entertainment" and open it up. Select Starcraft and delete the folder. Everything should be fine after that. I think this is on Blizzard help as well.

You should end up in the region you log in from. I've done this in a couple different countries with the same cd-key so...

...It doesn't work. It's the same. I end up in Brood Wark KOR-1 and most games are in Korean...

Ive heard that it is caused by the language version of windows you use.
So for example when you have german version you end in deu-1
korean kor-1 etc

you could try changing your language from korean to english (if this is possible I generally use windows98, and dont play sc with the computer with xp)

perhaps changing the keyboard to english can help (not sure..)

Isn't that the Korean Flag you have on your profile? Also, try doing this.

1, Click on start.

2, Go to control Panel

3, Click on Regional Settings

4, Then click on the Languages then set it to English(US) or something

5, Restart your comp.

6, Try B.net now.

1. Don't use a posted korean cd-key from daum they always have problems with them.
2. Re-install sc and this time Don't select Korean.
3. Maybe you forgot to turn off hanstar.
4. Put in run on menu, type in regedit, go to sc, and language.
5. play it on a different comp.

3. I don't have hanstar, and if it was hanstar, all the choices (Channel, Join, Ladder, Quit) would be in Korean, which is NOT my situation

Yeah, but all the games are in Korean, and I can't typen in Korean and I can't play games that I want to play. Plus, nobody comes to my games either...

well if u were on europe it was normal, on europe the evening, there is more than ½ of games created by koreans, but i appear in brood war fra and i can create, and people can join, but less than the journey, because koreans ont join my games, so ....
but i can't help u , start formating ur computer with a windows in english or ur langage and reinstall SC, but that's all i can find to help u

did you try changing your keyboard to english? and actually whole windows to english (I think it is possible on xp without reinstalling)

Nah, because this happened to me a long time ago, but it got fixed even tho it was still korean, but I don't know how i did it!
