That's dumb. A friggin pencil is way more dangerous than a rubber band. Because of the way a rubber band moves, if it was to hit you in the eye; it would have most likely been moving wide enough to not get into your eye. Honestly, that's stupid; I could stab a pencil into my teachers eye and possibly into his brain and kill him with a pencil!!!. Why the hell worry about a rubber band?

We get less of a punishment for carrying a knife thats less then 5 inches long. WTF is up with that?

This kid brought some sort of sword to a near-by school and started slashing kids during school, and hit someone in the chin, and I don't even think he got banned, just arrested....

Well, once at school in 6th grade someone threw a pencil at a teacher but he only got ISSR for, like, a few days. Rubber bad wasn't even shot, just thrown, right? You can't get hurt from a thrown rubber band, you have to sling it kinda.

Our country has gone overly meticulous over the use of small innocuous objects such as the rubber bands. It's almost as ridiculous as the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy Era.
