i'm making a map....and it's almost about 100% done...but now i can't save it. when i open it up in x-tra editor and then try to save it an error comes up and says "Could not open file 'C:/Program Files/.....' for writing.", although it still does save what i do. but then when i try to open it with SF, a bunch of wierd errors comes up with wierd text, and all my sounds are deleted. i don't know what to do helpsmilie.gif

Either
a) Open the mpq and delete all the sounds and the (listfile). Then redo your sound triggers and sounds with SCXE
b) Post the map so we can delete the sounds and (listfile) for you then you redo your sound triggers and sounds with SCXE.

Are you in the game while you are trying to save it? In the game on Starcraft.

You just need to reimport your sounds and put them back into your triggers.

Just a small things: The map will take too long to DL, its huge compared to the standard size that most people use. My maps are mostly 34kb and the biggest map I've set foot on without any sounds was 110kb. 900kb* will take a very long time to DL.

Edit* - File size
Edit2 - Removed file, the author seems to have removed the original bugged copy.
Note to Author - If you need the map again, PM me.

StarForge usually messes with Sounds, all I do is open it in SF and SCXE (Getting the error messages in SF), save it in SF, then save it in SCXE. Once you've saved it in SCXE you shouldn't get the message, you'll just have to reimport the sounds again as Legacy said.

You'll still get the message in SCXE if you save it in SF because SF caused it.

Although that message is displayed, the map still saves but most people find it most annoying.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME ONCE

WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE SAVE ICON, THE WEIRD TEXT MESSAGE WILL COME UP

BUT THE GAME WILL BE SAVED. JUST CLOSE THAT ERROR MESSAGE AND CLOSE YOUR EDITOR AND WHEN YOU GET THAT "SAVE BEFORE CLOSE" MESSAGE JUST SAY NO.

I'm almost 100% positive this will work but...

use at your own risk mellow.gif

ugh....this is getting annoying.....i opened up the mpq for the map and deleted everything.....then i opened it up in xtra-editor....clicked scenario, and sounds, and it just crashes the program. but i can open it perfectly and edit it fine in SF

Don't delete everything. Delete all the sounds and the file named "(listfile)"

Whenever I do the method I wrote, the message goes away (Temporarily; until I mess with the map in StarForge a lot again).
