How do you change the colors of the teams on Xtra Edit 2.6? I have tried to find out how, but my efforts were to no avail. cry.gif

IF this has already been answered, may you provide a link to the thread it was answered on? If it hasn't, help me out, wouldja?

You can't change colors in SCXE 2.5 OR 2.6. You have to use StarForge to change player colors, although if you open up a new map in Ice terrain, the white player color will turn to green. Like I was saying, in StarForge you go to Player Settings and then type in a new number in the box. After you change the player color in StarForge, if you open that map back up in SCXE the colors will revert to their originals.

So, you're saying that if I make the map on SCXE, and then change the colors on starforge, and then reopen it on SCXE, that all of the colors that I had changed would go back to being the ones that they already were on SCXE to begin with?

Yes, that's exactly what would happen.

If that is true, then what editor program would be the best to make LotR-style maps. I want to change everyone's colors to match the kinda things that they DO in the map, but if SCXE doesn't really change the colors or anything like that, which one do I use.

It's a little off the topic, but I really do need to know.

You can use any editor to make the map, and then as a finishing touch use GUEdit to change player colors. Though it is not as advanced as some programs are, it works for me and can change from 0-255. It only tells you what the first 18 or so colors actually are however.

First, make the map.
MAke it all the way complete, 100%, no bugs.
Then open it up in StarForge, edit the player colors, and protect it in PROEdit. Then upload it to the DLDB, enjoy smile.gif.

Just use Starforge for god's sake. If you want to do uber isom terrain, use SCMDraft first.

It depends. In my experiance, if I used colors 0-13, then no. If I used color 14+, then there is a possiblity that will happen. In my experiance, if I changed the player's color using SCM Draft 2, and then loaded the map in SCXE, then the players would keep their new colors.

In my experiance, GUedit has more bugs than Starforge 2.0 and SCM draft ALPHA combined. ohno.gif

Max, it will revert back to normal if you open/save it in x-tra. I have tested it.

Well, I got Xtra editor and StarForge on my computer, but none of them can change the teams to the color black. I am trying to get somewhat of the same colors that the guy who created Lord of the Rings:: Sauron's Deciet used: black, grayish black for Lindon, blood red, and all of those colors.

Thats what I am trying to get to, but neither Forge or Xtra has them. What program would I use.

Black is generally color 17. See my sig for a list of them. You would just enter that number in the box (see above post).
