this is something that has bothered me for a while. does anyone know how to put a stamp on a map, like the ladder stamp or the blizzard stamp?????
I'm pretty sure there is an old topic on this and they concluded that you can't.
There is an old topic stating that you can't but I will say it here anyways.
Long ago, back when Brood War/Starcraft used to be young, there used to be a hack that let you change the icons, but the only drawback is that 95% of he time it made the map corrupted.
You can change the icon, but chances are you won't be able to play the mpap.
thnx man its just i saw a recent one and it was advertising a bot on sc so i thought it was possible sorry to bother u guys
It's possible to add an icon to the map, just not play a map with an icon on Battle.net. Icons are just .cnd files within the maps MPQ.
SCM Toolkit has a function to do that. I have never messed with it enouth to determan how or if it works.
It does work, but you cannot play the map because you get an "invalid authorization" error.
the same goes if you try to edit one of blizzards maps like The Hunters, when you try to save and paly the game it will give the error
That only applys if you use non-Blizzard made editors. StarEdit automatically removes the .cnd files when you edit a Blizzard made map.
I disagree with this. Although I lost the map, I was able to host a game where the map had a custom icon. In case you were wondering, I beat the game dispite having this icon.
EDTI: I think it was a defence f xtra map
What do you guys mean by icons? Do you mean like special spell buttons and stuff like that?
No. They mean the blizzard icons that show up next to their map names whenever someone makes a game. That way you know it's an official blizzard/ladder/whatever map.
