The tops don't show in the editors. It plays fine in StarCraft. Geez, test these before you post. Other people are getting disconnected for some other reason, for which you'd have to attach a map.

Don't place them off the edge of the map.

Oh my god. This is... sad.

It's the way Staredit was edited(Judging by your skill, you probably wouldn't know the [crappy] emerald editor was just another Staredit modification, like everyday Starcraft mods).

Turrets MUST have a top. Turrets without tops don't exist. The turret is a unit, the top isn't. In the game, the top is attached to the turret as an overlay(image in Starcraft that gets put [usually] on top of a unit).

Now because units.dat of emerald editor was modified(Units.dat is a file determining where units can be placed, how they look, what categories they are in, allow them to be placable, etc. that is inside an mpq file), the turret will no longer display the top in the editor(Most obviously because the one who modified it does not know how to do a great job of it, leading idiots like you to believe extremely stupid things).

Anyway, I'd advise you to gain some knowledge of Starcraft itself before posting stuff like this.

[center]In the editor you're using, probably StarFire Edit, or Emerald Aspect, the turrets have no tops, because they're made into air units, so you can place them illiegally.
For some reason, the patcher program you're using doesn't remove the new patch, and replace it with the old patch. So the units.dat file the new patch is using, is still being used when you start SC. When you play on battle.net with a messed up units.dat file, it desyncs the game if you play with someone using a normal patch. You should probably make a new folder in your Starcraft Files folder devoted entirely to StarEdit, and alias the unchanged files, and have true copies of the changed ones. That's what I do.

[center]Whichever version you plan on using. I suggest the moded version, so nothing interferes with StarCraft, and it's related files.

The thing is, he stated that he hasn't played for a year. But the turrets worked the same way since the Beta version of Starcraft.

warhammer40000, typing like that will make you look, well... newbish. Could you please use SOME sentence structure at least? I'll give you 100 minerals if you start doing so.

okay. but u misinterpreted my sentence. About, a year and a half ago i got emerild, and the turret thing happned, so i threw it away (i wasnt map maker anyway, i just had it for fun!) and went back to basic. then a half a year later passed and i left the sc biz... bout one year later i returned to the glory it beholds...... biggrin.gif but wtevr...
