Yes this works!!
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now.
Got it from gamerenders, thought I would show it here.
HOLY CRAP I DID IT AND IT WAY FASTER...HOLY CRAP...WOW!!
I cant even say to my dad: " I edited our browser, It's faster now" because im grounded
I've already done that ages ago.
Damn, what a difference... Why they don't put that on the Firefox download page?
Opera has that turned on all the time... I think...
EDIT: Yup, Opera automatically makes 8 requests to the server.
Great, another Firefox user, you lot grow. GO AWAY

i'll have to do that when i get back to my room.
HOLY

It's so much faster!! Now how to tell my dad that i was on firefox and made it faster!! (im not supposed to be on firefox) hehehe..... (because I guess *I*? made the regular internet get viruses??)[I didnt] ans now it its all messed up .. But firefox is cool!
Holy shit..
That's all I have to say..
Thank you... thank you... I'm here till... ummm.... I stop mapping (never BWAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA).
works prefectly but you left out that the little name change that happens, I forget what it was but it made me a little scared that I did something wrong but nothing at all! good job
ehhhh ok I have a fast connection, cable-broadband. And I think my internet is slowing down now beucase of the modifications, but we will see....
My first impression is it waits slightly longer before anything shows up at all but once it does it all like done before i know it.
I think its faster though, hard to tell the differance between really fast and really faster.
uhh if you read up on this it doesnt work for all sites now some sites wont come in and it makes the quality a little bit worse
Ya gotta admit, SEN loads much faster now.
For some reason I smell like pot... Dunno if it loads fater for dialup yet.
eDIT: Maybe it does load faster
it does load faster just quality is a little worser .. i wish that was a work
