i just realized that all you need is an ethernet cable to put in the back of your xbox
the question is, can i play without a headset? (i realize i wont be able to talk to others)
that would be so ownage.......i still have my 2 month free subscription from halo 2, i always thought you needed special things to connect, or is all i need a live enabled game and a ethernet cable?

yeah i got halo 2 on live, and i didnt have a headset but on halo 2 you can message people to talk is the only way lol

okay, i tried
in connect status it says:
cables connected
ip settings configured
dns resolved
(X)Xbox Live not found
and when i went onto site to check it out, it said to press Y and then A and i got this

You need to subscribe for x-box live. You can't just plug in a cable and expect it to work.

get the headset, i didnt have it for like 3 days and i was so compelled to buy it, now i have it and i can talk to Kow and Yoshi and IP, i recomend buying it, but thats my opinion, because people like IP wouldnt wait for me to type up the messages and so

but the only way to get a headphone is to buy it with all this other crap

okay, heres the thing, i have been able to connect if i go directly form my modem, but it doesnt work through the router, i checked up on the ports that needed to be opened and it still doesnt work

nope i bought a headset by itself $30 its better to buy it with other crap you actually get a better deal

through google seraching, headsets are like 20-25 bucks...
anyways, i wanna know if there is a combo of just a 12month subscription card and headset without any "free" games....couldnt find it through google, maybe you people know a store?
