How do you build on it if you can't get to it first?

You can't build on null...Unless you manually place them in statforge, And plus, What's the point in trying to build on something if you cant walk there, If a unit can't walk there. Don't count on trying to build on it.

Well you could do something like set an elevation layer of terrain (or else a location/set of locations) to be inaccessible to 'men' by moving them off of it with triggers. The only problem is that only protoss would be able to actually build anything on it then, but if it was inaccessible in the first place that's about what you want anyway.

Some types of null terrain can make units that walk on it hard to control (jerking around the way a unit would if something unburrowed underneath it), but can have creep extend over it. Of course, once the creep covers it they can walk on it, but that's the closest thing to actual terrain that I think can actually do that.

Actually I accidentally made some null terrain in a map once where you can build on it but can't walk on it. I can post the map if need be, but I don't remember where the tile was so I don't know how much help it would be...

There are quite a few null tiles which you can build on but not walk on. Actually, any null tile you can build on would work because you can't walk directly onto null from regular terrain.

well il explain my purpose. im tryin to make a zoo like thingy, and you know the nuetral critters keep walking around. so im just trying to make sure they dont walk out.

i belive scv's can build on it too,i dunno, im not sure they have to be exaclty on the place. but as you said, protoss can.

Well I know some stuff that you can walk on terrain that you can't build on it as in WATER or Null not rocks

You might look over this thread
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=2639&hl=

The Null tile on the same row of the creep can be walked on but only you can't pass onto it from other tiles. I think you might be able to build protoss buildings or something by bring a probe up next to it. Or just simply with triggers.

That is of course, unless it acts like normal creep and prevents people from building on it (sept zerg). I know nothing about how the creep tiles work, though.

Well, if we can put creep on "nothing" zerg units can probly not walk on it but build on it, if you use a drone of course ermm.gif

If you just use generic Null terrain (using the brush not the palette) then creep goes over it, but you cant walk on it. You cant build zerg buildings on said creep, but it just continues over to the other side. So if you put one of those sprites that makes fake square creep inside the "cage" and have a null box around it, the null wont look like it is there but you still cant walk on it. Also, you can land terran buildings 2 squares left or right into null terrain.
