This forum is designed for less constructive, trashy, and questions here that don't belong anywhere else. Spamming and Flaming are not permitted!

I've been a member of Staredit.net for a long time, not as long as MOST of you, but at least a good 10 months or more.

What one realises is what GERK OFFS about 35-45% of the memebers are...
What is with that?

I think we should have like... NEGATIVE karma - or NEGATIVE minerals given to ANYTHING EVIL ;op.

Constrictive criticism is all good, bashing and discouraging is Flocking Lame.

What has the SEN comunity turned into? A bunch of know-it-all trash talking five year olds?
Or power hungery memebers...
Abusers?

You mean people like Drakiel? I would suggest toning down your posts or you might start getting more warnings.

Nah... it's just that that being always serioud gets boring and makes your life sad, so people do some dumb stuff but as long as no one gets hurt it's just fun and a way to easily spend your time and enjoy.

It's not like members here create threads named "SPAM J00!!1!" and the first post is:
"SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM..."

Members just release the stress they get in 'real life', it's nothing bad as long as it's ok with SEN's rules (after all, that why you have the garadge forum!).

Drakiel, you barely been here for enough time to know why is SEN like this. You been here since September 24, 2004 and thats not near to the 10 months that you stated. You have been only 5 months here.
I have been ~8.1 months and I can say that things really changed during the summer. My profile says I joined on July 15, but I joined on June 20, I had to remake my account because SEN had server and back-up problems.

When I first joined SEN the community was fairly small and everybody didn't care about post count and all that stuff. There were only about 9 forums compared to today's 20 something forums, which means people had better track of what was going on. People used to put lots of effort into each post because there wasn't very lots of threads to post into compared to today. That was during SEN v3.

When v4 was released a sudden wave of people came in and even more people came when IP was admin. New people tended to try and make their own way into the community so now the old days are gone and the days of lots of Staff/Mods to moderate the huge forums is here.

I advise you watch the Melee mapmaking forum for flaming.

I've been here longer than what my record says. Heck took me forever just to sign on further than just a GUEST. Yes I remember the old Staredit. way back before this entire revamp.

i think sen went bad is when yoshi left. (not blaming him) thats when everything kept getting out of hand. now that yoshi is back i think sen is fine though.

WHATS A MATTER WITH YOU HM!?

I'm trying to keep things in order, but these truely are big forums. The best you can do is act as an assistant for moderators, and report posts. No one except the responding moderator will ever know who reported it, or if it was reported at all.

We wont give negative karma, because jerks tend to do that to people just for the hell of it, or if they pick on the top 10. It happened with member rating... I dont want it to happen again.

I've been here since SEN v1, but I never registered during that version.
I came back for SEN v2, posted a bit, and then I had my SC break where I quit for six months or so.
Then, I signed up at TSE. I knew Yoshi a little bit, back at the old SEN v2.
After TSE died, I quit for around three months.
My old, ancient SEN v2 count was deleted by some mod. sad.gif
But now I'm back, posting a lot more than before...but when I say I've seen some old stuff from SEN, I mean it.

ok dont bash on all of SEN's users because their are a lot of polite people but just because you posted this you are one of the not so polite or inconsiderate.. you have been on this site a month longer than me...(wow only 4 month seems longer)and you act like you know everything.. My point is chill!!

I don't know why their are a few topics that have been coming up lately about SEN to strict or bad or w/e the problem is.. just quiet because the answer is simple for you!!

Shut up or leave!! dont complain if you have a request thats fine but dont be a nag ...

Yes, they are not permitted because, people would go spam and spam; over and over again.

He's more than welcome to post his opinion.

We, also, are more than welcome to post our opinions.

Yes, it's true that SEN has picked up some trash along the way. Doesn't every site? I think we should applaud Yoshi, IP, and all the admin and moderators for keeping it to a minimum. SEN feels like home to me, and I'll damn you before you condemn it.

I'd say the vast majority of active members here are great people.

Paragraph 1: I joined on June 9 so ha! tongue.gif

Paragraph 2: True; things have gotten a little more out of hand. We have way to many junkies who never take a step or two beyond the Garbage forum. Though I really think people are paranoid about such things these days. Regardless of administrative opinion; post count still remains a reflection of how respected you are at SEN. I think all these "new ideas" are just as "abusable" and "terrible" as having a heiarchy based on post count. That system never got out of hand. Moderators capably kept people in line.

Paragraph 3: All lies. Do I need to bring back my SEN stats sig? Our times without Yoshi saw a slump in member activity.

I started on near the end of SEN v3 and yes I have noticed it's changed. We get alot of noobs that are into map making for like 1 or 2 weeks then leave. It hasn't changed much 'cept the layout and my grammar.

Okay well thanks for the people who are understanding where I am comming from... Now that I'm all calm and stuff...

Yes someone said there will ALWAYS be bad eggs, and that's to be expected.
I just don't think we should let it get out of hand, OR if they do happen to trash someone's ideas or thoughts in a discouraging manner, support eachother more.

I LOVE it when I say something, someone trashes me, and someone's there to back me up. It's happened a few times.

This is mainly just a REALITY CHECK to help realise that there are trash-talkers, and that we should be more supportive of eachother.

Thanks to those who ARE and go unrecognized...

The best way to deal with the jerks is to not gratify them by letting them know they're getting to you. This thread is exactly the kind of gratification a real jerk wants. Seriously, no one's going to shape up because you got mad at them and posted a thread about it.

Oh, yeah, and I joined March 2 2004, so I've been here longer than most of you. My year anniversary was two days ago. Back then it was like EzDay2, Mr. Camo, Coko, ent, Yoshi, Clokr_, Bolt, and a few others whom I can't remember who were the really prolific posters. Actually, I think Bolt joined a little later. What the hell happened to ent, anyway?

Not that any of that stuff matters tongue.gif.
