Staredit Network

Lets say Blizzard came to you and asked you one thing you'd like in staredit. This can be anything, what would it be?

For me, the use of more advanced triggers!

Anything I want.

A ramp that can aim to 11 & 1 o'clock... You know, you can only make them to completly see the ramps, since Blizzard isn't capable of making some minor 3D thingy that would mess the game... Its really pissing when im making melee maps xD

Ive got a few i deads.

1.Cliffs aupon a cliff: Have a cliff aupon a cliff with ramp's. For most people who play wc3 you will undetstand what i mean. If not you make a cliff 10 x 10 with the ramps on the sides. then in the middle of the cliff make another cliff on top of that 10 x 10 or by 5 x 5 with more ramps on the sides.

2.advanced triggers: Like Td's i dont know what kind of advanced triggers td wants but me i would liek more control of the A.I.

3.Able to palce camra angles like wc3: For those who have w3 again will understand. able to make movie's (cut scene's)

But Blizzard well have gave up in Starcraft. But is there a way to contact blizzard with a reason of something to make them make a new
Staredit / or make somethnig new in staredit. if there was a way i would!

A "STOP WAV FILE" would be cool for maps that use music.
More options for computer AI would be nice for more control over the computers actions.

lol the perfect staredit would have the ability to change cool down rate, change voice, change model, should have all the qualities of wc3, without acting like a mod. (i kinda like making new units.)

If were not talking serious here, the best staredit would be...

Saying all the things i want my map to have.
For example, if i say i want u to make an rpg, it makes an rpg, then i gotta describe it. Or maybe ill do little things, like make a ling that looks like a hydra, that flies around. Etc, etc.

lol, that's called a "mod", not a staredit feature

About WC3, im pretty sure every SC mappers would love it, cuz the WC3 world editor IS better than SCs, but the game isn't...

You can change a units voice with out it being a mod. Its in the staredit help file i think.

Have a narine, Have a protoss Zealots voice. ive done it befor pretty funny.

No you can't. You can only do that sort of stuff with a mod.

Well belive what you want chu, I know i done it without a mod loader, pacth loader, or anything's. A ll i did was coyped a few thing form one file to another and there i had a marine saying *For Auir*. But i did a tad more than just copy it over from one foilder to another. If you find the read me good luck trying to make a marine or anyunit say another units stuff.

Basically you save the sounds in your SC folder in the directory structure inside the MPQ.

(Okay that makes no sense... Someone translate please.)

It's called the sound extractor. It takes all the sounds out of the MPQ and sticks em in nice organized folders. Switch the sound files with your own. Of course, this only affects you and not the other players in the game. But that's what he did. I wanna make everything be Artanis. :bigw00t:

the dream staredit is that it'll make maps for me... like when i type in Make Spells Like the Thing... it does that map... now that would be true laziness

I had a great idea. Being able to stick an "OR" in the Conditions. That way you wouldn't have to make 84373897 triggers for seperate units or whatnot.
