Yeh.. well it turns out that im actually not the worst melee map maker here, so , im gonna start making a new map once a week (if i can, im very busy at the moment)

but anyway ill post screenies, names and dates.

constructive critisism is a MUST!!

Not sure about this since the screen shot is not that good but don't put that load of mierals in the middle with 4 vespene gyser...looks very bad.

i cant see crap.

looks like orange has a closer and extra expansion, this map is very unbalanced, you should post the map as well. also use the map generator, or the scm->jpeg converter, because this screenshot sucks. this map needs alot of work. 3/10

I personally find making an exellent melee map is harder than making a good UMS map... I see the one you are working on and it looks like it has great potential. Keep it up.

Melee maps don't take as much time to make. As Rose.Of.Dream said, certain maps take longer than others. Nostalgia took 8 hours(in all) to make, but another tourney map only took 1. Melee maps are hard to balance and give players room to make interesting plays, use different strategies, and make good replays for others to watch. UMS might take a very long time to make but it could be considered easier since the terrain doesn't matter. How well you map is depends on your triggering skill and, well, how fun it is.

Now about the map, you might have a bit too many mins in the middle. If you have, like, over 12 or some mins in one location, people could consider it a BGH map, unless the map is really made well and the loads of mins are balanced out. I've seen a game where there were, like, LOTs of min patches in the middle but it was a pro map, and a very good one at it too. And it's hard to tell since the SS is so small but it looks like sort of an island map, with all the expos at islands. If that was your intention, then alright, but if you want a regular melee map you could make ramps connecting to the islands in the middle.

P.S: Use this program to take larger SS'.

You need to DL visual basic runtimes too. Plus, if the map is protected, it won't work.

disagreed, im not trying to be mean but this map needs to be started over. start a new map, make more space to build and try to even it out more, it looks like you just made a random crooked square on the map.

Lol, thats a long vacation.
Maybe you should try the same idea, but add more land mass, more expos, and straighten it out more.

heehee sorry, im VERY VERY lazy.. pinch.gif once i get started on a map i dont stop, until i have to turn off the comp or go to bed,

but then it takes alot of motivation for me to startup x-tra editor pinch.gif

im sorry.. ill start doing the map now..
