Me Darcan, HellCat and Simon_90 has come up with a new kind of battle ships game with starcraft theme, like battle cruiser that u could get when u hits a mineral on your turn. we will be back soon with further instruktions :help. if there is anyone that is good on UMS that could help us with to make a UMS map of this game is welcome to write to me jesperlennartsson@hotmail.com or benjamingelotte@hotmail.com
if u as reader has some other ideas that could be good for this game u can mail u to.
anyone that has a idea of a map can piant a skiss and send it to me or Hellcat...

This Starcraft Battle ship idea is exellent. Very original, I love it.

Sadly, none of us are good enough to make such a map.
but an idea is to make it pretty much like a chess board (but bigger) where you move around your units turn based. Blinded units that could only see one square in front of them. we actually tried out the game on a piece of paper and was quite fun. uberwoot.gif

triggers making minerals be placed different locations every game shouldnt be so hard. then u could like mine one mineral, make sure you protect the scv/probe/drone on the way to the base and then buy a better unit for it.

It would be incredibly simple with a grid x,y system. I'm actually suprised that nobodies done this already. Nice ideas though! biggrin.gif

I though of it like 2 years ago, but too bad I was jsut a newb map maker at that time, soo i forgot about this. Thanks for reminding me*

Back to topic: Using starforge would make this kind of grid sytem easy but it'll probaly take one hell of a mapmaker to get the triggers done. Atleast, i do not understand starforge trigger system myself.

I f I were to make it, I would use a system similar looking to that used in the projectile firing map found Here. It wouldn't be that hard to convert a small grid reading system into a large grid placing one.

I also had thought of a grid like game idea: Chess for starcraft. Its just that I have been to lazy to think of the how to make it, and even start the terrain. disgust.gif blushing.gif

If any one got ideas of any triggers that could work, here's the game:

Make a (whats the word?) map(?) 20x20 squares on a piece of paper (u know the type you do yer math homework on). Both players has one "map". Representing your ships is the two mineral fields, and two vespene geyser you place wherever you like on the map. Decide who makes the first move. By representing the single marine, zergling or zealot (which normally is what u use to explore in the early game) you shoot anywhere on the map (just like in a usual battle ship game). Lets say someone starts off lucky by hitting one of the enemies mineral fields. With the
extra minerals gained from this, you may place one missile turret somewhere in the map. The thing about the turret is that if you opponent hits both your geysers and one of your mineral fields, he gets a battle cruiser instead of the marine. He may now shoot two times each turn. If the poor guy encounters your missile turret, it is considered destroyed and he goes back to the marine. The game is won by aquiring all minerals... We added some more kewl units which is described more understandable here:

Marine
Resources required: none
Shots per turn: 1
Cooldown: none
Special: destroys all buildings with 3 shots

Missile turret
Resources required: 1 mineral
Shots per turn: 1
Cooldown: none
Special: destroys battle cruiser with 1 shot, building (is placed on the map when the resources required is accumulated)

Battle cruiser
Resources required: 1 mineral, 2 vespene
Shots per turn: 2
Cooldown: none
Special: destroys comsat station with 1 shot

Siege tank
Resources required: 1 mineral, 1 vespene
Shots per turn: 1
Cooldown: 1 turn
Special: destroys all buildings with 1 shot, destroys everything 1 square away from the center of the impact when hit is on a building

Comsat station
Resources required: 2 mineral, 1 vespene
Shots per turn: 1
Cooldown: 3 turns
Special: building (is placed on the map just like resources in the beginning of the game but can't be used without the resources required)

Errr... are we talking battleship or chess here? Cause if we are talking chess then I got some ideas for new units:
Pope: just like a bishop but can move 1 forward or backward and 1 to the left or right.
Cannon: If any of you have played chinese chess before then it is the same but basically it can move like a rook but can only attack by jumping over a piece and hitting the piece behind him.
Tower: basically the same as a rook except that it can also move 1 diagonal any way.
If you are gonna make chess please take this into consideration biggrin.gif

Just to clear things up this isnt anything much like the real battleship? Cause i've already made that. Infact i'd started it before this thread, i just hadn't made the production thread until after.
