Please post screenshots. It's easy to do and it is better for those who don't have an editor on their current computer.

If you don't know how to convert .PCX files to .JPG then download Irfanview Here.

It's just plain old more user-friendly.

CHEDIT:

Also, don't be afraid to post your map or SF brushes when you can make them. Just save them to a file and upload it in a zip.

Also, please indicate your sprite count.

Honestly I find it much easier with firefox if they dont poste in a .zip because then I can just specify to open the map with an editor. Brushes of course can't be attachments so must be .zip ped.

I find it just as easy with Internet Explorer, because... HAH look, I can specify it to open with a map editor too!

But... sprite count should be the most important thing.

Unfortunately, some people don't know how to find how many sprites they used. For those people:

1. Open SCM Draft 2.

2. Press 'ctrl + R' or manually select the 'sprite layer.'

3. Find the number of sprites used in the entire map along the bottom of the editor window. (ex. "20 / 256 sprites on map")

4. If you want to count only the sprites in a certain area, highlight all the sprites in that area and delete them. Subtract the new number of sprites from the number found in step 3.

5. Press 'ctrl + Z' to undo delete.

Or, if you are really bored, you can count them all separately or keep track of them when you are placing them.

Let i remind you that none of this is required. It is simply here to help keep you aline and ontopic in the posting of forums. And for the public's sake, because they want to see what are the transmetic's of your current experiments with terrain.

It should be required T-Virus, and any moderator could make it that way easily.

I think only a screen shot should be required, the rest should be suggested. It's annoying to download the map, find my CD, open up SC, find the map, look around the map... You get the point. Just post some screenies of what you want to show, so we don't HAVE to DL the map, and go through all what I stated above.

It should not be required because not ever topic involves screen shots when representing terrain from i map i do agree that then ti should be required.

It shoudn't be required because enforcing it would seem retarded (and I know Mp)3d wouldn't do that anyway). That is why I have the post looking like a request and not a requirement.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

Post your screenshots as PNG images, not JPGs

Any reason for this?

I think it was because the 256 color pallette for .png matches better with Starcrafts colors than .jpg does.

It's because MS Paint does not properly pallete GIFs, so thats why they are ugly. If you use Irfanview or GIMP or anything else of that sort, it will work fine.

I see no other way how to post terrain but attaching map or screenshots. If you find other magic ways, tell me about it and then maybe I'll pin it. tongue.gif
