I guess this thread can be used for anything... but my question is.

Is it possible to force a computer tank (through triggers) to seige?
(I know you can just improvise and remove unseiged and replace with seiged).

To others: There is a section in the turtorials, I believe that tells you how to make comp use abilities, ensnare, broodlings, blind, etc.

A good topic. Is it possible then to force a templar to cast psi storm? As I've heard it is impossible to force it to do something, but he makes it(the computer) on his own, depending on what is around him.

You could provoke a High Templar by allowing it to be momentarily attacked by a moved/removed unit. Assuming the Templar will retaliate on the area of whoever attacked it (I don't know for sure), I guess as long as you can get it to attack back you can be fairly precise with Psi Storms this way.

yoou could quickly remove then create a siege, but there might be an AI script that sieges tanks, o dont know.

A lot of people here are experienced mappers. And it helps that we have tutorials, guides, forums, and help for vitually everything. So don't be surprised if you're proved wrong in a lot of situations. smile.gif

Run any normal melee script, such as custom for the player owning the templar. Then just give it something to attack. But it is an AI script...so I think it might target only certain units, I haven't tested it yet. (And don't really plan to)

I have heard (but not tested) that a medic owned by a comp will blind a unit if the following coditions are met:
  • The unit has more than 80 hit points, and is owned by the comp's enemy
  • the comp has researched the optical flare
  • the comp also has enough energy for a opticial flare
Also, you can change how much energy is needed for the optical flare. I forget how to do this, but I know for a fact you can. (I have made it so a ghost needs 251 energy to cloak, so why should it be any different for other spells?)

Err. I think you can change it in Scenario>Special Ability Settings or something.
Forcing it to siege... how about put the tank in an area (enclosed or cut off by water so that it can't move), and create an enemy unit out of its range but in it's sight. Then you could probably move it somewhere. But this is no better than removing/creating.

There is no unit on the ground, that isn't invincible, that the seige tank can't shoot if it sees it. Only if it comes inside it's minimum range...that's when it'll unseige. Like the tutorial said, make a DT next to the tank then remove it. Tada.

Max: It's 82-83 HP, and of course it needs the enemy and energy. It's easy to setup, you can test it.
And it works tongue.gif.

Some unit within siege mode range, but not in tank mode range could attack it, kinda making the tank wanna siege, and then remove it(or let it kill the unit).
cool1.gif
But then again might the siege tank resume to tank mode. huh.gif

But, he could just move the tank and attack it rather than siegeing, then reverting back to tank mode.

If the tank is seiged, you crash. If it's not, and you have shared vision with it, it cloaks and moves around. It can still shoot when unallied to a player. If you don't have shared vision with it, it does the same except it's not cloaked.
