SEN is an old site which has gone through many versions, and I was just looking through the site statistics a minute ago, and it got me thinking.
We should have some sort of timeline accessible by members, detailing major events in SEN history.
The most famous one sprang to mind after I looked at the statistics for September through December last year, and how the number of posts and topics crashed at one point.
September, for those of you here long enough to remember, was the month of the 'Great Hack;' when synd][cate hacked the forums and deleted the recent database. Yoshi then left and so did many other members. Even though IP revived the site, it was a seriously dark time for the forums, and I think that it should be chronicled, along with other events, in some sort of timeline; as I have suggested.
So, what do you think? Should we be proud of SEN milestones or should we let sleeping dogs lie?
Good idea. Then you can click on the events on the timeline and get a brief description of what happened.
April 19, 2004, donwano joins SEN.
Make that one the begining.
It should start with my downfall from SSC

We once did have a history section... but I took it down.
Why'd you take it down Yoshi?
Probably too difficult to update.
The near-collapse of SEN deserves a mention somewhere though.

I still don't see why it would deserve its own section... Not like it was great times. Other things happened in the past also (which were big by that time).
Well, it was a dark time, but it was a time of unification as well. I remember that there were massive arguments before it all happened, usually about map protection and other sites plagiarising SEN things. When SEN got hacked, all of the members who stayed went and ganged up on synd][cate, and unity was restored. I think that the site was heading for a serious division of opinion before that happened.
There are a lot of things with SEN I'd rather not remember. The layouts were horrible before this one, and nobody needs to know that some guy decided to test SEN's security for absolutely no reason. You can already see the history within the site... we have every single topic since the beginning, and it shall remain that way.
Fair enough. Historians like all history - the good and the bad. I guess I'm one of them.
but it would be cool... maybe even massive bans and stuffvs too... yea...

Hah, our ban list is a page long after 1.5 years 0.o
I suppose I could write up a nice little story about sen's history...
QUOTE
SEN was born at the relatively young age of 0. The creator, a Mr. Yoshi Da Sniper, spent way too much of his free time developing and making this site 1337. After a year or possibly less, popularity grew to outstanding measures.
Suddenly, the great kiwi famine of 1942 hit. The site was plagued with members giving away random kiwis, causing a shortage until it's ultimate downfall nay one year ago. A memorial has been placed since then in the Welcome Forum
It's a start...

I could write something from the few weeks before Yoshi went to Czech Republic and SEn was down for 3 weeks.
I remember things quite well.
I didn't spend too much time on the site... I just was running OUT of time to spend on the site.
Then comes the bank, and the kiwi game. Downfall of the bank.
Kiwi stock market crashes (even though all players were paid in full).
Lol, Technical Death started the site, not Yoshi da Sniper. (shut up, I know

)

Aww, no one remembers the days when Technical-Death were around? Sure think he was a better Admin than Yoshi. Yeah, TD was soo much cooler than Yoshi.

I wish he were still here

I want to meet him.
So should we all write a history about SEN and make it into one huge post and put it somewhere? Or is this topic going to be the collection of our stories?
This is the kind of thing I meant when I said 'Timeline:'

A little after IP comes to the site, place it where first large scale Staff appears. Many new positions are opened in order to help IP run the site.
Also, I'd liek to point out that the Dark-Age would be the time between June 20 - July 15 where SEN was down.
