I'd have to say that there is barely any room for Protoss.
Terran would have a very easy time defending all those bridges.

Beer, is right, espeically when the terrans get seige tanks in siege mode.

Also, it seems like player 4 (purple) has a bit more room to build stuff that player 3 (teal).

Beer's right. Extremly unbalanced. Alot of wasted space w/water. Only 1 level of land, which makes place for basicaly no strategies at all.

personally i love bridge maps, but this is unbalanced, protoss has no room, terran would take control of bridges, but otherwise its an ok attemp for an 8 player map.

i would really like to see you make another version od this map with more land and maybe one more island expansion to fight over.
ill grade the idea of this map, not the execution, 8/10

I like it, there are ways for Protoss to get around Sieged Tanks.

That is what is fun about strategy games, learning to adapt to your surroundings. The best melee players out there are the ones who can deal with any twist of terrain and take advantage of their given resources.

Yea, it is fun for protoss, but what isn't fun is the fact that Zerg has absoltuley no chance.

Fortune, how do you adapt to no room? Just don't build? It would be very hard for Protoss and Zerg. Zerg have hard times with choke points, it is hard for them to maneuver thier huge masses of armies throughout a bunch of bridges.

While I agree very much with your point, the bridges still make it very unbalanced. I'd say cut the bridges in half and replace them with land of about wquivilant [if not greater] width.

Terrain-wise, its pretty good, and that each player appears to have the same amount of space to move. Trouble is, as several have mentioned, so the small areas in which to actually move.

This might be a daring suggestion, but what if you combinr some of those land masses to make a bigger one? Youll still keep the bridges that offer alternate routes, but combining some of these areas could offer more room to move, as well as the oppurtunity to open up double-bridges.

Yea, if your going to keep up with this map you are going to have to change the sizes of the islands.

I think you should add a bit of ice and snow terrain into the map. Possibly add ice into a large amount of the water to get rid of the criticisms that there is too much wasted terrain by using the large amounts of water.

I also think your basic terrain should have been snow, seeing as how the maps name involves "arctic" weather.

Those are my critiques and suggestions, good luck with it and I hope it comes out well.

ADDED: I'll 1v1 you on it sometime if you want. cool1.gif

hmm, why 1v1 on an 8 player map?

why not take out 6 players and make those expansions?

If it were a two play map, perhaps it could be some kind of maze where you seek your enemy in the dark or something...

But it would still be rigged for terran.

For once tongue.gif, I completely agree with Yenku's suggestion to make it a two player map. I think that would be a great idea and would balance out the unbalanced terrain and maximize the gameplay of the map.

Even making it a three or four player map would be great as well, but I believe the fact that there are eight players is the problem—eight is just too many players for this battlefield.

Regardless of the number of players, terran still owns all over the bridges.
