Report, edit, etc...Posted by Forsaken on 2005-03-12 at 19:46:42
I want to see how many athlete's there are on this website...

I know of a couple, like Beer who says he is a runner!

I am a really dedicated skier, YES I SKI! I am good, not to sound arrogant but I race for the Junior Division of the U.S. Ski Team.

I don't have any recent pictures of me skiing, but I think I have one on my computer somewhere, if I can find it I will post it. tongue.gif

What sports do you play?

Post a pic if you have any!

Ehhh dude I made a topic like this awhile ago and 80% of the replys I got where either table top miniature game (warhammer 400000000000) and playing computer games. I stated what sports do you play and I got hobbies disgust.gif . So Im warning you that like every one here are nerds and don't play any sports. Im too lazy to post pictures of me playing lacrosse so here is a slide show of the Washington State Lacrosse State Game that my team won 12-3, GO MERCER ISLAND!!!!. Im number 17, but I had to use an under classmen's helmet so Im wearing helmet #47. I also play football too.

Let's see.

I have played one sport competitively (outside of school/college), and that is swimming.

I was once 10th fastest in my county for breast-stroke (sounds dodgy, hmm?), about 5 years ago, but I disliked the boring nature of swimming competitions (galas) and eventually quit due to school pressures 2 years ago. At that time I was still improving, my best 25m freestyle time being about 13 seconds.

My current sport of choice is middle/long distance running.

Last year I won the school 400m (the first time I'd ever run that distance, so I was really surprised), and I'm doing weekly 3 mile runs this year. I'm pretty rubbish, but I've got my time down to 19 minutes for a 3 mile run.

Oh, and I like playing casual games of what you Americans call soccer too.

We have a pretty good minigame of 'soccer' it that we play at college called OTOB (One touch, One bounce):

1. Get a group of people together. About 10 is ideal, but you can play with 4-25. You will need a football (soccer ball).
2. Stand in a circle, or as near to one as you can get.
3. One person throws or kicks the ball fairly gently towards someone else.
4. The other person must hit the ball with any part of the body except for the arms/hands before it bounces twice. They may not touch it twice.
5. The next person does the same.
6. If a person screws up, they're out.

You'll probably find that much hilarity ensues if you don't play it too seriously, especially as some people interpret the rules differently. It can be pretty funny when people start arguing about who should be out:

[Player A boots the ball high and far. Player B jogs after it and doesn't reach it in time]

A: You're out!
B: No, you're out - how was I supposed to get to that!?
A: NO - you're out because you didn't make an effort!

etc. It's a fun game. You should try it.

We have a game thats pretty much the same as that. We call it "Hacky Sack"
There is a versoin called "KILL" and pretty much you use the same rule as your game except, when a person catches the ball after 3 (or however many kicks you decide before you pick it up) kicks you would throw it a random person! Fun Game! tongue.gif

I run Track & Field

100m - 11.22s(I plan on doing 10.9)
200m - 22.82s(I plan on doing 22.0)
400m - 52.24s(I plan on doing 49.0)

I haven't run the 200m or 400m at my fullest this year because I was slightly injured. I will run this friday since I'm feeling very good and break that 400m record once and for all.

Will, how fast did you run the 400m?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-03-12 at 22:42:17
Not sure how fast my best time at the 400 is, but I know that I've gotten 51.6. (49's really fast man)
Ya I'm a track runner, running the 400 and 800.
I've also got a reputaion as a good pole vaulter, but our school doesn't have a pole vault competition. If you consider it a sport or not, I also am trying to get into the Footbag olympics. It's probably the funnest I've ever played. (Also called hackysack)
Other than that I play soccer, and snowboard.

i have a few things to mention,

i played lax, i didnt know you did stars-chris, i played for 5 years, then quit i had things to do.

I do kickboxing, so does my brother who is 23. we have a trainer, ive been going there for 4 years. i train with him 3 times a week.

And my last sport, soccer (futball). ive played this since i was 5, im 15 now. i play on the varsity soccer team at my high school and we were first place in our league last year in newjersey and pennsylvania. im a striker (i was 3rd top goal scorer in the league) ive been on a "travel team" since i was 8 and recently left it because i had no time for the team. now i only have time for school soccer.
OTOB i play that all the time with my friends, its huge among soccer players.
Kill, the hacky sack game a.k.a. Face a.k.a. Boob (lol my friend made that name, his favorite name call is boob).

My best friend is an X country runner, he plays sc too. hes in 9th grade as well and he ran a 17:20 which is first for the entire league of PA and NJ. but they arent in a great league. he id definately going to be in the olympics when hes older. he will represent switzerland though, i have no idea why.

OTOB is not hackysack. crazy.gif What you guys call hackysack generally doesn't allow for any bounces.

Keep-ups is what 'hackysack' is called over here. Footbag and hackysack as descriptive words make no sense, just like the American sense of 'football.'

Examples :-
Football: Because you play it with your hands.
Footbag: Because you kick a round ball that doesn't look like a bag.
Hackysack: Er...what now?

Keep-ups: Because you attempt to keep the ball in the air.

About American's being stupid that is my personal comment, because we are very fortunate. We are ALL Spoiled, no matter what you say. If you are online right now sitting in your comfy computer chair, talking right here on SEN. And Aussie's ROCK. Back me up Mogle or High.

Well, here we go.... ermm.gif

I am not Anarchist. I am just saying that the average American is nice but arrogant. I have been to many places, and the people and culture are 100% different. As in people are nicer, they don't worry about every little thing. They don't sue people for the hell of it. America is getting fatter and lazier and always wanting to go to war.

If America was a little less lazy and a lot more Passive Aggressive America would be that much better, but at  the rate we are heading America is now declining.
I.E. Economy is going to shit.

Believe me, I am not Anarchist, I say the Pledge of Alleigiance every weekday at school and I mean it. I also sing along to The National Anthem.

You can believe what ever you want. I really don't care.

lol actually, i tend to agree. i was just making sure you werent just saying that because you were an asshole. Plus in your post it did'nt wuite make sense. Don't worry, i wasn't attacking you, i was just making sure.

hahahah damn that sucks!!!

ya I really like my school's colors becuase Maroon and white is very versital. In dark and raining weather Maroon turns very dark and you can look intimidating (look at football picture) but in light weather it looks tight. Also white goes with everything!

It sucks, our original colors would have been Red, Silver, and Black! I would have been in heaven!
