I was wondering if there were any techies around here; the people who design and build sets, run stuff on and off stage during blackouts etc. Cause that would be cool.
And I guess a couple of actors would be cool too.
Anyone else?
LOL. Well seeing that your a good person and no one has posted in here I guess I will. No I am not, sadly.

I do find some things interesting though.

I am not much of a drama person

so I don't usually go to plays and stuff. However, my friends does that kind of thing as a volunteer. He says it is cool because it gets him out of class sometimes.

I don't know why he would need to be out of class for that but oh well.

(Maybe now more people will post in here).
Well I really like shakespeare myself. My favorite one of his is Othello. My school did Othello last year and we used backrounds and sets that were on wheels so on one side of it you could have the front of a building, but when you spun the set around it was the inside of that building. Hope that helps!
I used to do that stuff a bit in high school. But I didn't have enough enthusiasm to keep with it. I tried out for a bunch of musicals and stuff, too, but I can't sing.
im pretty sure that i can do a little of technical theatre. im in high school doing the second credit of it. i alreadey know teh costume department and im halfway done with theatre tech.
its fun to build wood but not make dresses.
I took a basic drama course once, and participated in one play. Yeah... thats about it.
I took part in a War play, To raise money for sick and old people...I was the evil bad guy!!!
Muahha we raised a lot of money..
But neevr took part of another play.
I'm a semi - techie, starting up more next year, because the head tech ( who's leaveing) is an ass. So is the 'director'... teacher... -_-
I dont like acting, but I love tech (I dont know much though... -_-, major head tech in college was here last week and he's like do this and that and this and this and that, im like wtf!!!)
I'm excited...I'm technically running paint crew with a girl a year younger than me, so I get the final say in the color schemes. Well, the director does...but I get to choose the shades and such.
We have 15 set pieces projected 0.0
I'm one of the just... general techies at Smoky... Yea, the play we just did, Once Upon A Mattress, it sucked. The next one... Moon Over Buffalo... it's gonna suck even more. All we did for work today was... a word search, and play sardenes. Woo, productive day.
I took drama with a friend of mine, we didn't really like the class. Actors are a bunch of uptight wierd people or hippies. We do videos and stuff which is fun, but I'm not sure if that classifies as a theater "techie."
Most of our male actors are ( or look like they are, literally ) gay.
I still haven't had too much interaction with any of the actors... Guess I'm lucky?
Saunders (our director/teacher thingy) said that actors make the best techies, but it took literally about 7 of them to cut a peice of freaking string... -_-
nuclear: yes. Yes you are.
I was ASM...this one actor I could've killed because of his general attitudes towards techies.
