I think this is a VERY good mod, it feels like Starcraft, EXCEPT you are playing first person, which is really cool. There are only 2 forces, the Aliens (Khara) or the Marines (Frontiersmen). Marines have a commander who makes things and upgrades and GIVES stuff to marines (weapons, ammo, medpacks, etc.). Marines have to use COMPLETE cooperation, otherwise, they will die a painful death. Aliens in the other hand, are more of a do-your-own-thing game, where you rely more on yourself, then the help from others. Aliens can evolve to more advanced types, later in the game, when you get hives. There are 3 hives in every map, Aliens start off with 1, and the game is a race to control the other 2. Once the Aliens get 2, it is most likely gg, but marines may use lots of tactics such as heavy armor, better weapons even jet packs, to eliminate the opposition. The sounds add a great deal to the atmosphere of the game. One of the better Half-Life mods, it even competes with the most popular online game, Counter-Strike. A truly amazing game, I would rate it a 5 out of 5. Natural Selection 2.0 comes out on July 31, be the first to get it! (and maybe send it to me)

I had it for a while, but I was only able to join two game before getting a fatal error, because half-life doesnt regulary work on m system anyway. It was a pretty cool game, but I was never the commander.

it hates you :err: but check if you have either Half-Life or Counter-Strike games on your pc.

It works for me. It's pretty "ok" kinda cause you gotta have good teammates to play with. Revelade is correct you need full cooperation on the Soliders team. Because it works like this. The marines team has a machine that builds stuff. Whoever goes into that machine is the commander and you are in a sort of "starcraft" building mode. You, well are able to build stuff, find allies and enemies. The teamwork things fits in here, you need a soldier to finsh building the structure inorder to be complete. Imagine warping a pylon that doesn't fully warp in. Mass soldier building can also be done. There are these resource areas where you get resources, this is pretty useless to the marines only useful the commander, since hes building all the stuff. And like Revelade sed Aliens are like a solo kinda race. Teamwork is still required though here and there.


Btw, my favorite alien is the... Fade, hehehe almost everyones favorite.
