I was just wondering if you had a estimated time when the mac version would come out or is that way to far in the future to even think about right now?
I've heard that it's gonna be a while. I don't think it'll come out until after the release of a non-beta version of SCMDraft. They use the same code, so it would only make sence to port it when the code is actually finished, and most of the bugs have been found. If I'm wrong, SI, or DW, please say so.
I asked this in an old thread (that was deleted I believe) when I also asked about when beta testing may take place, and SI said it would take another month or so to finish the Mac version...
*DevliN cries. A lot.
We wont know until we have the new MPQ code working
oh, ok thx, I'll love to help yuo test though when you do decide to release beta.
Yeah I'd like to Beta test as well if its possible. I've been dying for something like SF or SCMD to come out on Mac and since I don't know anything about coding I figure this is a way I can help if need be. I was going to offer to do the splash screen image as well, but I can see I was already beaten for that one...
I would also love to be a beta tester for it... How many other mac users are there on this site?... I think I only know of... at most 6.
Hey, count me in for a bit o' testing, and make that number of mac users 7.
Nuclear, there's a really low amount of Mac users and a lower amount of competent Mac users...
But yeah, I really doubt that beta testing will be hard to find here on SEN.
I have no idea how many mac users there are here, I am sure they will all pop up whenever something is annoucned tho.
I could use a pc if i want for editing, but i believe dell's to be a piece of junk, so im primarily mac
well, dells are pieces of junk, that doesn't mean PCs are bad in general.
that would be like saying ford mad crayy cars so all cars are crappy.

*CaptainWill pops up I'm a Mac user fed up with Staredit on OS X. I'd be more than happy to beta test if and when the Mac version gets to that stage.
does someone wanna take over the job of making a list of all mac users?
I will and count me in on the list.
well, i'm a mac user too shadow, so put me on that list.
Any word on this? The new version has been released if I read correctly.
the PC version isn't done yet, and the mac build I have crashes after 5 seconds on my mac*
* Mac emulator, no cash for a real mac ;(

What are you using to program the Mac version? If by any chance you lived down the street from me you could borrow a Mac from me to work on.
Dw is making it, on his mac. he says its a bit laggy on it but so is staredit so I guess its OS X, staredit speed is fine in classic mode for him

I don't know how SCMDraft works, but it sounds like it modifies the original StarEdit application. If that is the case, then yes it will lag since you have to run StarEdit through an emulator on OS X.
What? No. SCMDraft was the first 3rd party map editor. It doesn't run off the base StarEdit program.
Im a mac user, thats all i use.
Yet im not sure what Draft is like AT ALL since ive never seen it.
It's the sexiest thing you've ever seen, and probably the best editor you will ever see come to mac.
Yeah, it kicks the shit outta StarFire edit and owns StarEdit Emerald by shitloads.
You'll have a mapper orgasm using it.
Mapper orgasm... wtfage?
