hi all this is my first SEN post. Relayer is strictly a 3v3 tvb map and is my attempt to intergrate some 1v1 tactics with team battle. 1 base for each team is air, and the others are connected to one enemy only. hope you all enjoy

drool.gif I love the terrain of this map, it looks so nice.

BUT, thats doesnt mean anything.

the mineral place ment on this map isnt the best ive seen. meaning it sucks. dont try and do that fancy stuff, it makes workers mine much slower. and the expansions, you cant fit a CC in any of them, you packed the resources to close.
There is not enough building room in the main bases either.

Also, not many people like 3v3 tvb maps. we would rather not have to need a full house to play.

So basically the only thing i like about this map is the design its very easy on the eyes.
Look around in the melee forum for a while and you will catch on to map making.

okay you got me on the minerals and it could use some more room, but the command centers fit into all of the expansions.

I did a time trial on my map and dire straits which also has 8 minerals at the start location. with 20 probes, i timed how long it takes to accumulate 500 minerals. my map consistantly took between 40 and 42 seconds to accumulate the 500, while dire straits took between 43 and 46. take the pepsi challenge and give it a try yourself. (default gamespeed in single player mode)

alright, i believe you, but still, it could be faster.

Thats not the main problem. There is no space. This map would be hard to be played with toss. Either terran or zerg would win.

It doesnt make the exact same map bigger, but it allows you to change the size of an already started map. i highly reccomend SCMDraft, its got a great terrain brush palette. But triggers suck on it.

I don't see any difference with your two screen shots.

Anyways I like your concept of 2 playes are in an island although I agree there is not much space to make things.

Did you try to resize the map?

Because it doesnt make land bigger, it just makes the sides longer.

From looking at the mini-map, the only problem with the map is the resources and resource-placement. There doesn't seem to be enough, nor would they be placed in perfect proportion—not likely at least.

I like the looks of the map though other than that and I look forward to trying it later.

changes on the new version of the map:
-more room in starting locations
-all starting locations are thesame size
-made expansions uniform (yenku i know that doesn't matter to you but i'm all about the good looking maps)
-made more space from the middle expansions to the air bases, before the main base was within siege range.
-made more space on the sides, i want to be able to hide a fleet of carriers moving all the way around the map if my heart so desires. i also want every base to be attackable all 360 degrees around.
-more space between the middle island and the 4 expansions, was originally within siege range.

ya i should have put this on my last post they do look almost identical on the pictures, you can hardly tell that the second on is scaled up a bit.

the mineral set up is not too popular even though it is just as fast as any non-money traditional style... i guess that will have to change. you win.

i just noticed that the points at the fronts of the ground bases are good places to put siege tanks.. maybe too good. thoughts?

ya def a tech rush is possible but thats kinda the idea of it, each team has one though so it should balance out. i wanted a decent bit of the map's strategy to be a race to the air for the middle players so that their team can double team their opponent first.

each side has a island base so it balances out. if you are the island base, it could be really good to get air before your opponents island base player does. this allows you to double team your opponent while they still cannot. yes it was a bit unclear before.
