Don't make any of the units to start out with. Create them with triggers and use the center screen to move the screen where there created.

Yeah basically start out with no one able to see any units on the map (as in don't share vision with any computer units or give the players units themselves.
Or you could keep centering location on an area with no units near it and then stop centering once the intro is done.

just center the vision in the start on an area that is fog of warred or on null set terran. then when you want them to see charcter use center location tirgger again to center on the unit.
