I recently played a game and a person whos rec was about 300/50/6 joined my game. I assumed he was decent so I decided I'd play him. I massacred him. When he realised he was going to lose he started begging me to ally him so we'd both get the win. I don't care about records now a days because of the huge amount of people who cheat them. I told him I wouldn't and even after he continued. I find this incredibly pathetic. I intend to play PGT soon but I havn't been able to figure out how to activate my BnetX account (due to the lack of email from the site).

Has anyone else had enough of n00bs trying to look good while they say incredibly stupid things with a seemingly good rec? I sure as hell am.

You never have enough. It takes bouffons in a community to make it fun. These people do the job well.

Do you think everyone does it to try to make people think that their records are good? Look at my records for example... donwano@USWest, donwano@USEast, `BiG~kAhOoNa`@USWest, LOSS-111@USWest. I use to have Dark-Man[X]@USWest, with like 7,000+ wins and I was #3 on ladder for most wins. People winbot for fun. Atleast I do. Until Battle.net completely gets rid of winbots then I'll stop and say it's wrong.

Blizzard won't do jack shit about it now. You've taken all the competition out of blizzards ladder. It's the only reason PG and WG exist. Because tarts like you are afraid of competition. What's the point of a number if it doesn't mean anything? Way back when 1600 ladder rank was the best there was and getting a high rank was damn fun because it meant you were better then other people at the game. You winbot it just means you have a lot of time on your hands and don't feel like competing at all. Good job n00b, you get the dumbass award.

I've played people who have disconnected in more melee games than I have played and owned them.

What does it do?
I guessed, at first, that it just runs SC in another window with another acc and a diff cd-key, if you have one, and automaticaly follows you or SOMETHINg, but apprently not.

You used to be able to count on records to determine a players skill (hence the ladder system). PGTour, which I'm now obsessed with, you can count on recs to determine skill, it rocks out so hard core.

No one cares about how many wins you have. They will just think you botted it, that's just how junkies work.

Jet... are you completly retarded? First of all, people don't play just to see their rec, it's their rank that's important to them. Second, on PGT you can be sure rec's are valid, and you used to be back in the early days of SC... when retarded little 90-borns didn't come on to ruin the game. Third, don't talk down to people who are smarter than you =D I bought StarCraft to compete, if you've been playing SC for more than a year it could be for one of 3 reasons. The first would be that you really love the competetive nature of the game and how it's impossible to master fully, though possible to get much better. Second you just like all the ums maps and like the editors for starcraft, however you should not be posting here under that reason. Third, you're a sack of shit with no life who just win bots to be an asshole.

I have an old-school illy on USWest with a legit record of somewhere around 160-10-5...

Anyway, yes, it's a shame what people come to at a certain point. But unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it. I stopped playing melee with strangers about five years ago.

I have a pretty high legit account on West too, but all the good people played on east, that's the way it's always been. I mean when XD's and LiZarD were popular. Somehow I think winbotting is a direct reason why those clans died.

Second of all, yes I quoted one quote of you flaming someone else for using a program on a computer game that is not illegal.
Finally, no you are not smarter than me. Anyone can tell from just reading the post you posted.

All three of those reasons are WAY to pointed to one way of playing and should not be done by ANYONE. You don't buy a game because you like the competition, you buy it because its fun, that is the whole point of all three of those reasons.

BTW no one buys Starcraft so that they can winbot, you are just paranoid and think that everyone wants to winbot to piss you off.

Don't tell me what the whole point of my own topic was. The point of this topic was to see how many other people who read the garbage forum think that competition is important to the survival of melee StarCraft. I'm pissed that I can't just find a guy with about the same ladder rec as me and expect a good game. Hell, now I can't even find a guy with the same ladder rec because everyone moved to private servers or bot opperated ladder... which is what I'm in now. You wouldn't know because you never played melee. How do I know this? Think about it.


I think just saying "No." would have implied that it was all you had to say dolt. Name one old school player who winbots. By old school I mean they're really good at the game and they played a long time ago.


Yet another 90-born makes a dull assumption. I was referring to everyone you quoted. Through objective analysis I deem them smarter than you. Actually win botting is illeagal, it goes against the Terms of Agreement Blizzard sets out before you make an account. They just don't do anything because there's no money to be had in fixing it.

Competition is fun... that's why people play games. Do you think anybody would play sports if everyone won or tied? Hell no. Half the people on B.net today didn't buy StarCraft, they just got it from their older sibling or downloaded a crack off the internet. Sure, at first they didn't get it just to winbot... but then they got frustrated that they could never win or they got annoyed at everyone calling them a n00b so they decided to winbot. I don't care about the people who started winboting after the ladder was already ruined, but the people who started it are scum.

Rofl, it doesn't matter who the hell winbots because others are already doing it. Recs dont matter anymore, so I do whatever I want with mine. It really doesn't matter. If you wanna take recs seriously go on PGT geez. Plus with fastest out there, you don't even need a winbot to get your rec high. Even if you eliminated all winbots, you STILL shouldn't count on recs. BTW winbotting a 1 rating and 10000 losses isn't a big deal. Do stats for devilesk on east on SEXP. I also winbotted way after the ladder got f-ed up, its beyond repair unless they reset it so who the hell cares?

So anyway, basically if you want COMPETITION go on PGT, let the noobs do whatever on bnet.

Actually I'm saying that if you'd read my opening post more carefully you'd realise I wasn't complaining about people having super high recs, I was complaining about people taking the competition out of the game... and by that I mean the battle.net that Blizzard has created, not all the voluntary organizations that have had to come forth to keep this game alive for competitors.


Glad you've learned your lesson grasshopper... but that time it would have been helpful to give reason. How can a game been fun if there is not at least some level of competition?
