Anyone else love Team Melee. I thought about this the other day. Probobly one of the most underused types of games. But they are really fun. One of my fondest memories on SC was a massive team melee tourney my clan held when it was still alive. I think SEN should host one in the future, if we can get enough participation. The thing about team melee is you don't have to be that good, 4v4 is so fun...

Kow made one, but no one played their games. If there was one, I'd join for sure.

I played them in the very beggining of StarCraft, you could still find them in pubs. I didn't like them much because the people on me team were complete n00bs and would say things like okay I'm gonna use our SCV to make my own base when we're only at 7 control. It's basically the same reason I don't play 2v2 anymore.
I think, provided your team mate is competent, it would be a lot of fun because of greater ability to macro and micro at the same time, or launch 2 highly microed harrassment techniques at the same time. However, that has only been my experience once and the other team was full of n00bs so it wasn't that fun.

i dont like it when its more than 2 people on a team. but otherwise team melee can be a barrel of fun/monkeys

Actually, I am not a big fan of team games. I admit, they are fun to play everyonce in a while. But, if you really want to show your skill in SC it is a 1 on 1 game. No one to interfere, just you and your opponent. As opposed to 2v2, your partner could suck and make you look bad. And in multiple people FFA, if your about to kill some1, some1 else could launch an attack on your main base.
But overall, I do like the idea of having a team tourney on SEN, I would be happy to organize it actually (Sometime in the future of course).

Team melee is lots of fun, if you have good communication with your partner and you trust eachother.

I just realised this thread is talking about Team melee not tvb or anything.
Thats fun but hard. Communication with partners is really tough. Because everyone has thier own style and its hard to cope with others.

I love team melees... I've played about 20 or so recently too... its not as hard as you'd think to find opponents, though with lots of school lately I haven't played as many in a while but once summer starts again... I got plently of new melee maps to play team melees on. Usually if you checkout a # of private channels and ask if anyone wants to play you can get enough for 3vs3 at least.
