Now, i've checked the tutorial database, and I didn't spend time looking all around the forums so I'm asking nicely if you could tell me here...
I've seen this done in multiple maps but i can't figure out how.. Where you can get certain units to shoot great distances of the map.. Like a dragoon shoots half way accross the map.
How is this done?
You can't do it anymore, it's screwed over by patch 1.2
It used to be a unit 2008 trick, but there's no point going into further detail since its stuffed.
OMG NOOOOOO!!! that would have been the perfect solution to what im trying to create...
How can i make it look like oyu're flying forward at a really fast speed. when you're not moving or your screen isnt.
Here's what i have so far. I was going to use scarabs but they are too hard to work with.
No ground units is fast enough to create the effect i want. Any ideas?
Maybe you can try the scarabs again. Make a long strip of dirt terrain and put your ship at the very far right. Then set generic command point at the very left end of the strip. Then move scarabs to the very far right end (where the ship is) and then order the scarabs to generic command point with the ai script. (then reset a trigger that moves the sarabs back to the right again once it reaches the left). Then there should be a long line (or more if you want) of scarabs going down the screen. I said a long strip of dirt because if you have 5 lines of scarabs (5 locations) all moving toward the generic command point, the command point should be far away (which is why i said far left, when what players see (the ship) if on the right) so the angle the scarabs move at is smaller and thereforeless obvious.
I get what you're saying, I've tried that but it didn't work with so many rows. I'm also going upward not sideways. I've used interceptors only now I've come accross the problem of my fighter jet moving....
HAave a look for yourself. Burrow to shoot if you feel like taking out the valks..
Okay, I'll download it now. Just telling you something that isn't ratherly important. The 2008 long range trick, even if it worked, it only goes horizontally 72 tiles but it doesn't work going upwards.
ADDITION:
Yea, I get what you mean. I don't think you can fix that. It's due to the fact the interceptors are occupying where your wraith is moving to so they tend to move to the side. Unless someone like Bolt or Tux comes and try and solve your problem, I suggest you implement another method since I'm brain dead and can't find a solution to your jet moving issue.

K ill probably just remove them at the jet's locations so they never touch the jet.
