Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Games -> Who still play SC anyway?

I don't know if it's jsut me or not, but I think StarCraft is fading in our hearts... Or in mine. It's still a great game, but... I don't know... Before, I used to have a friend list full and most people were often connecting to battle.net, and then, it stopped... I guess that's one of the reasons I don't play much anymore either. Hardly; I should say...

Anyway, vote, tell us your oppinion. Do you play SC as much as you did before? If not, why?

Perhaps StarCraft IS getting a little old now...

Or maybe we're just here to find friends to chat/write to, and playing has become less important. Being a UMS website, we MAKE other people play =P

I can't play because my mom took my c-d.
So ya, less. If she hadn't taken it then I'd still play it 48/7 though. Err... wait... how do you play it 48/7...?

Yes. I'm on quite freuently these days since school has become boring...again. And you're right, most people on my friends list is offline. And if somebody's online, only about 1 or 2 are on at a time so any map is boring. Gone are the days of real 4v4 among friends.

Sadder yet, I've resorted to n00b stomping. And even the n00bs these days are bad. I mean, they're supposed to turtle for 30 minutes and have a huge army of Carriers or BCs to kill stuff. Nowadays, I just get attacked by huge armies of zealot and marines and stuff like that, which renders my Dark Archon anti-n00b attacks pointless.

A do a little less a bit. Since I got mapping/website/girlfriend/school/robotics to manage, I dont play ANY games as often.

I still play it quite often, and it's easily the longest game I've been able to stick to off and on.

StarCraft has been "getting old" for the past 6 years.

Yeah... everyone here used to be on so often. Now that I put everyone on my friends list, nobody is ever on. Bug me to make space for you then never come on again 2 weeks later... happy.gif blink.gif

Even though Starcraft is an old game i still paly it regularly. I like to promote my maps on bnet happy.gif but i dont think it will get old for me... at least not until SC2 is announced and released. Besides the only other kind of game similar to SC that i could become addicted to is War3 and after awhile it becomes an annoying game, at least in my opinion... that and i dont feel like having to relearn map making with the new style of triggers it has ranting.gif

WCIII's Map MAker is wierd as ####, ya.
I may be able to play sometime though. My mom agreed that everytime she convinced me that "today is a school day!" when it's not I get 1 hour of SC back lol. ... even though each time wastes an hour of my non-school-day-time... ]:<

Sure the map maker in War3 is very useful, it would sure be a completely awsome tool if we could create our own units Within the game itself without having to use mods... that by far would make maping for SC 100 times better. And i to have also just recient built a new computer and found myself playing lots and lots of the newer games but once i beat all of them i get bored and go back to SC happy.gif dont know why but SC is just a fun ass game that i know very well and have a blast making maps for.

I admit SC is still a great game, and will always have a place in my RTS heart, but I play much less then I used to. I have moved on to better things, such as MMORPG's that just completely take over my life, and SC is left behind. If SC 2 were to come out, which isn't any time soon I guarantee, then I would odviously come back to the SC world.

Yea i will admit becoming aditcted to MMORPG's every now and then... mostly end ups being Ultima Online... but since the shard i always play on has no server anymore... and most every other shards are Crap i turned away

The difference is that Battle.Net is free, and most MMORPGs are paying... Which, of course, sucks a big lot.

Anyone else noticed how hacking has become much more "compulsive", lately, on SC? I mean, most kids out there still map hack but the other ones seems to have got down a little... Only a lil tongue.gif

Heh, since my laptop is a wide-screen, I only feel "comfortable" playing SC in a window. Though it does screw up your chat screen on multiplayer, I find it quite useful to play with, since I get to see all my MSN conversations when a map get repetitive.

And Yoshi, get back the part of the user profile where we have our B.Net name. It would allow us to contact more people online (if they ever get online though).

Ha! You'll never get my b-net name!
