I know of some that work but are rather finnicky.

Well it works alright when he doesn't change stuff. And the image uploading works fine but it keeps reverting the colors to 16-bit. The ftp is a pain though. He's keeps screwing with the permissions...
btw how does it cause you pain?

Uploadit is also used by alot of people on another forum I go on... I don't trust it though xD

It allows me to upload pictures. It does all that I want, at the moment. Plus, it does'nt have any space-taking crap, and it loads at a decent rate(all the other sites[deviant art, nothing else lol] that I've tried have those problems).

Hmm...Yoshi, is it possible to set up some kind of file service for one image (with a file size limit) that we can store on SEN and use for sigs and stuff? Possibly, we could limit it to "Elite" or "Uber" users, and it could be heavily regulated. Maybe something like the avatar upload function. That would serve the function as the old upload thread, but still save space on the website since everyone would only be able to have one.

You'd need additional people just to patrol the upload sections, and there'd always be people trying to find ways around it...

We removed the signature thread cuz people were uploading too much things on it. You have RIGHT THERE about 10 FREE hosts to use, that was the sole purpose of this topic.
We are not wasting space anymore for uploading, it's been proven to be abused before (by NON-newbies members, if you want more precision; so elite-only wouldn't help at all, and any higher wouldn't either since only 2-3 members are at that state right now).
Use what you have here.

I don't think that would work. Some of these other ones are fine though. Artificialsmile works for me, and that 250Free finally sent me an email, though their system seems a bit too complicated for my tastes...

Not exactly, you dont get the quaility and uniqueness if you dont code it yourself.
I coded majority of Staredit Network myself (excluding the forums, which is Invision 1.3). The rest was mods that I adapted.
Better than having a web editor do it for you. Its cheesy
