Alright, a while back, I seem to recall something about you being able to make a non-sheilded unit (i.e. Marine/Firebat) Appear/Have sheilds in addition to it's HP. I'm not sure exactly if I'm just thinking that I saw this, or it actually is possible. So, I want to clarify myself. If it is not possible to do this, then please tell me and I consider this all closed. If it is possible, I would like to know how/where to do it. Thank you.

If it was possible many would have done it already. You can do it with a mod though.

You could do it with a vitual HP counter. Ling the burrowed drones under your marine/firebat. Have the firebat invincable until his all the drones are gone. Make it so only the computer can see the drones and they will attack those and you cant see them so it looks like they are attacking you. As for the shield effect, you would need to move and observer from a spereate location on the map to the firebat every time a drone dies, then move it back. In that seperate area of the map, have like 5 observers for a computer and like 15 corsairs for and enemy computer attacking the observers.

The closest to what you are thinking of could either be the extended unit which when selected in a group had a marine wireframe with shields aorund it or some odd way of healing the damage and using crazy moving units or something to superimpose the shield damage sprite on the unit.

I could of sworn I saw a similar topic on this... but, since I can't seem to find it, I will post what I remeber from it... (I think this topic was made before patch 1.12 was released.)


Basicly, you take a unit that has shields and you teleport it to another unit by using hypertriggers. For example, you are constantly teleporting a scout as close as possible to a invincable wraith. Then, when a human player goes to attack in that general location, it will appear as if the wraith is being attacked.

All extended EVERYTHING was changed by patch so no one knows anymore. Therefore you cannot add shields to units that dont have shields without the use of a mod. Have a nice day. smile.gif
